Deron Williams Creates Utah Jazz 2.0 in Brooklyn

The idea that Masha is a popular Russian singer is American folklore. I don't care much to do it now, but back when they kept selling hard on her being the "Russian Britney Spears" the only google hits to her name were American sources that were linked to AK.

Yea I guess this makes DW haters look dumb with their claims that DW didn't like AK. AK isn't too smart for opting out. Besides he is coming off the bench too, maybe he will whine about his role.

Hope Kirilenko likes coming off the bench; not likely to be a starter in Brooklyn after the Celtics hijacking they pulled off...

What? Really?

I feel silly if true.

Let's not give the guy too much credit here. He did not sing with them to win. He miscalculated his value - Wolves grossly overpaid him last year, and he thought he can now sign a multi year deal for more overall money. He was wrong, and made idiotic business decision by opting out.

Yes, yes he did sing with them to win.

He sang loud and and prpud.

Jason Kidd will have his hands full coaching a squad with that many all star veterans. It's going to be a lot of unhappy guys. Kirilenko must have hated Minnesota to leave a $10m deal for a $3m.

I find it disturbing that this Russian Billionaire has enough cash to just throw away 200 mill. Crazy. Imagine what that kind of cheddar could do for people around the world who don't know where their next meal is coming from. Sports are crazy enough this way. But this roster is getting nuts!

Imagine why his cheddar should be used for people who need to learn how to get their own cheddar. If he has it to throw away, its his to do so..he doesn't owe anyone anything.

Imagine if this money was actually buying stars in their primes.

I can't even keep track of the Nets roster anymore. They have depth like no team in NBA history. AK at 3 million is a steal. Thing about the playoffs though is the best 5 generally have no problem playing 40 minutes a game. 60 regular season is possible, but a second round exit wouldn't surprise me.

Actually he does. Read his bio. It's full of shady deals aided by his partner, a Russian politician. From their mining operations to the bank they owned: in bed with the government and allowed to purchase other companies for pennies on the dollar. In fact, in one of the most blatant examples of corruption, the bank he owned purchased a nickel mining company in which he was on the Board of Directors for much less than actual value. His bank was also in charge of the bid process (as well as being a prospective bidder) and disqualified a much higher bid for the company. This guy is corrupt as they come.

I think AK was hoping to land with the Spurs but Minny wouldn't do a sign and trade, so the Nets were his last and only resort with all the free agent money having been spent, and since Proko is his buddy and Deron probably signed off on it (their relations were cordial when Deron was traded), he went there.

I hope they had cordial relations... Doesn't Andrei only get one night off a year? Would hate for it to be forced ...

Wait...wasn't Deron the guy who said he purposely ignored AK on offense? Found the quote:

"Referring to teammates Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur, Williams said, “You see Booz after practice shooting for 25 or 30 minutes. You see Memo shooting for 20 minutes. You see, you know, all the rookies. The young guys. You saw [Rafael Araujo] in there working. [Then] you see Andrei being the first one out the door.”

As the Jazz’s quarterback, Williams admitted he has looked for other targets with his passes because of Kirilenko’s approach to the game last season.
“If he’s coming off a screen on one side and Matt [Harpring] is coming off a screen on one side, who do you think you’re going to pass to?” Williams said.
“You think you’re going to pass to the guy you see working every day in the gym or are you going to pass to the guy who never works on his shot but yet wants to shoot ‘em every time?”
Asked if Kirilenko’s work ethic was a problem, Williams said, “I would say so.”"
