From reading this thread it appears that most of you have given up on Hayward.... The Jazz, however, have clearly not. At this point I choose to support their position. Time will tell!

With exclusive relationships between NBA Teams and D-League Teams becoming the norm, we will see more teams signing players for their minor league team for a looksee. No commitment, low cost. See how they work in the Jazz system, and have them available if they need them for spare parts, etc...

Let Exum play the PG on offense, but don't trade Burke. Trey is a great compliment to Exum. A smaller guy who can play on or off the ball on offense, but guard a smaller PG. Match them both up with Burks, and you have a trio that can cause matchup problems for a lot of teams. Three guys who...

I remember how bad the Jazz were when Trey was out at the beginning of the season, and how much better they were when he started playing. A guy who can make the team that much better is a better PG than many of you are giving him credit for. Certainly deserves a chance with a better coach...

Wouldn't they have to match the offer from Cleveland? I think they could only do that if Hayward showed them the offer, but didn't sign the offer sheet. Would require some cooperation from his agent.

Good thread. I think we need to remember that the Hayward signing would not be about next year, or even too much about the next, but about the team that will be contending in a few years. Give them time to gel and get experience together. I think that makes the case for keeping him, even...
