3/2/12: Utah Jazz vs Miami Heat

Did anybody see the cross body block Haslem threw to get LBJ open for the inbounds pass on the last play. Would have been a moving pick any other time of the game. To me that is one of the biggest problems of the NBA. Unwritten rules that change depending on whether the player is a star or a...

3/2/12: Utah Jazz vs Miami Heat

Can the Harpring and Boler lovefest for LeB end now? This is the Jazz network.

    Celtics fan on Rondo...

There is a reason rebuilding teams like the Celtics and Jazz prefer to trade for draft picks rather than players. I would much rather trade old players for young players or draft picks... so would the Celtics and the Jazz. These trade proposals are interesting, but I hope if the Jazz start...

    The Calderon Speculation/Something Thread

Now make it Harris + either Bell or Howard, and we have a deal.... Too much to hope for huh?

Anyone have anything positive to say in the Jazz forum?

The Jazz are just what we expected (or should have). A young team with a bright future, one or two pieces still missing, and some really high ceilings. We got our expectations a bit high in the basis of an easy early schedule, and lots of other teams looking for their identity. Jazz fans...

    Officiating in Jazz-Clippers game

I think it is more that incompetence. The NBA game has become so physical that basketball skills are secondary to physicality and toughness. So much physical play is tolerated that the line between a foul and a wrestling match has become blurred. The fact that Hayward was called called for...

    Officiating in Jazz-Clippers game

On the replay, it was clear that Griffin anticipated and started falling backwards before the contact. That is a FLOP!!

CNNSI, Point Forward Jazz Contenders or Pretenders

The Jazz are neither contenders or pretenders at this point. They are a young team with a bright future. They are not yet contenders, nor do they pretend to be. They are, however, getting better very quickly and could very well be contenders in the next few years.

Ideal Lineup (Based on everything up to now)

The Jazz want to rebuild while staying competitive. That is tough to do. Rebuilding teams trade their veterans for younger players with more potential to teams that are competitive now and need extra pieces. Just my opinion... but Harris, Jefferson and Bell look expendable. Millsap is...

    We Are Horrible

While the outcome was very bad, I think the Jazz learned a lot last night. Isn't that what the preseason is for? Millsap is a critical piece for this team. I hope he isn't going anywhere. I would not be at all surprised to see Big Al traded. Good player but not the guy for this situation and...

Jazz starters according to Jazz produced Media Notes:

If this team can put ego's aside there is some incredible depth here. I think the Preseason games will be mostly looking at how different combinations work together. The eventual starting lineup is yet to be determined, but however it works, the depth will be a strength.

Ty the turd already on thin ice with me

I am especially concerned about Corbin being Sloan's predecessor. That would have put him here over twenty years ago. I am willing to wait and see how he does as Sloan's successor though. We really don't have enough information yet to judge what he is doing or where he is headed with Hayward...

    Jazz-Celtics trade idea

I actually don't hate this idea. It is better than the other Rondo threads because the guy getting traded is the biggest contract. Big Al is a good player, but with a big salary. By the time the Jazz are getting to the real window of opportunity he is gone anyway. Ronda would be a good PG, and...

Should NBA players form their own league?

Well: Since the players only really want to play in the biggest markets, I guess they could choose to put teams only in those places. Sucks for all of us in the small market cites though. Seriously though, the players interests are different from those of the owners. If the business model was...

Come on Britain you can do it!

Did Thoseby, the kid from GB who will be playing at Utah State this year play? I heard he was on the GB national team.

Just for fun who would the jazz sign...

Jaycee just signed a contract with Real Madrid for 1.4 M Euros (over $1M). Doubt he would be interested.

    Bring on the Scabs!!

Its pretty tough to sell a team for which you paid $300M ($250M borrowed) for $150M. Bankers and other partners don't like that. What you are saying is that they made a bad investment. If they give in now, you become right. If they win this war, and can still make their loan payments as...

    Time to trade millsap

Everybody is looking for a bargain. You trade Millsap only if the return is too good to pass up. And that would have to be really good.

Jazz Tried Trading Millsap on Draft Night

The word "tried" is key. I guess you can say they tried, but I suspect the reason they didn't actually do it is they would have to get a true haul to be willing to let him go. You might trade him if the return is spectacular, but you don't let a guy as valuable as Millsap go for the players...
