Jokic got a triple double on Rudy in the first half.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Good point. That's why they probably want nothing to do with Rudy Gay and his $6+ million for next year.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I thought we had $7 million in space? Westbrook for Conley, Beasley and Vanderbilt brings in less than $5 million extra. Even with a couple minimum pickups, we would avoid the luxury without having to do an extra deal right?

If I'm the Lakers, I protect it for 1st overall and that's it.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

The Lakers lack depth and selflessness. Conley is a total team guy. Vanderbilt is the ultimate selfless guy. Beasley is a shooter for a team that desperately needs to spread the floor for LBJ and AD. If the Lakers only give up one protected pick (maybe protected for only #1 or something), they...

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

The Lakers might balk on the pick cost of that trade, but Conley, Beasley and Vanderbilt are exactly the type guys that team needs. And they save almost $5 million in salaries which equates to how much in luxury? $10-15 million total in savings?

Thats a monster trade for both sides.

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

Jordan won a lot of his awards due to Nike, Gatorade and the fact that the league was desperately trying to create a bigger market with the upcoming decline of Bird and Magic. Gobert won a few awards because the entire system played to his strengths while trying to limit his weaknesses. Rudy...

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

Jordan was a great player on both ends. He was a player from the early 2000's thrown in an era when nobody knew what to do with a guy who played like he did. He had controlled athleticism and he played in all phases of the game. Hardly any players of that 80's era were doing that. I'm not...

Mike Conley will make you good. He won't make you a title contender, but he also won't let you suck.

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I personally wouldn't trade Vanderbilt, and I would trade Conley, but that recent report about Conley being happy might lead us to keeping him. I guess for me it comes down to who is in the 3-5 year window for us. Hardy is new, but I'm sure he has his "type". Identify those guys we have and...

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

A little somebody named Scottie Pippen was added to the Bulls in 1987. Jordan won the DPOY for the 1987-88 season. In a largely unathletic league where most everybody just skipped the ball around the horn or fed it down low, Jordan just played passing lanes or stripped bigs. Pippen would...

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

We are. I was going off of Basketball Reference which is usually pretty spot on..... https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/ 21 Utah Jazz $150,749,265 $134,111,459 $43,470,744 $30,237,463 But If you select Utah Jazz, it actually has us at $141 million. Seems like they are about as...

    Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I haven't looked at many of the trade ideas thrown around here so far, but has anybody discussed: Jazz get McDermott and 2nd rounders Lakers get Love and Josh Richardson Cavs get Beasley Spurs get Russ and 2nd rounders Seems to make sense for all four teams right? Russ gets bought out of...

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

How? One could call him one of the greatest defenders of all time which is what so many around here said. There are a number of players in the history of the game who could have gotten more awards if the entire team set up was built around them. Awards are overrated too. For crying out loud...

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

That's true too. Rudy is an asset, but his game doesn't always translate against every opponent. That's why he's a $20 million player in my opinion. Excellent in certain matchups but not every match up. His $40+ million should be spread out to 2 or 3 centers (a rim protector, a small ball, a...

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

Rudy is a very good player, but his offensive limitations always held us back and clearly made his contract ridiculous for us. Kessler won't be Rudy on defense, but he's a great center to have for the modern day center rotation. For "Rudy" money, we should be able to have 2 or 3 good C options...

Rudy Gobert "Greatest Jazz Center of All Time" Countdown Thread

Rudy Gobert is the most overrated Jazz player of all time. Rudy was a good player that looked legendary due to a system that was never going to work when it actually matters. When everything is built around you, any good player is going to shine.
