The official DO NOT draft Randle thread.

It is starting to look like this to me: TOP 3 - Embiid,Wig, Parker (no order) ?? Exum Two Solid picks (litterally & figuratively) - Randle, Smart Two upside picks - Vonleh, Gordon the likelyhood that Rande and Smart are good NBA players is high, but I don't see "Superstar" V and G have better...

I'll be okay if the Jazz stand pat at picks 5, 23, and 35.

Agree about Stockton, Malone years.. (I even think the Jazz had the worst supporting cast of any finals team battling the Bulls) However, while there is a need for a good supporting cast, there is bigger need for finding a star. I would take aggressive and even risky shot on this one. Now...

I'll be okay if the Jazz stand pat at picks 5, 23, and 35.

I agree it is not easy.. I agree it is not likely. But that doesn't change my opinion that trying is the right thing to do. My opinion is based on very sound research... watching a few college games and buying into majority opinion that there are three players Who have a very good chance at...

I'll be okay if the Jazz stand pat at picks 5, 23, and 35.

there are a couple of "standing rules" to building a contending team in NBA 1. You need stars:"big three" for example 2.. You Can pay about $40M for them 3.. Then you fit low priced role players around them; fill deficiencies , and max the chemistry the essence of the debate is:. Do We have...

Statistical likelihood for stars/busts in draft

Id like to see his historical performance Also I was under the impression that embiid was a higher risk than noted here. Maybe that is all based on his back issues.

The Lakers, Kevin Love and the Utah Jazz

The bolded part is a wise move... DL put that out there to deflect the blame if the pick goes bad. He knew last year that Ty would not be here today. If the pick works out then he still can "thank" Ty... (And if Ty were still here it was thus a hedge toward the player working out...) this...

    Following potential 2014 draftees

I heard Locke on this topic on 1280 and he was noting that Exum is a player that should be included in teh "top 4" like there is a "top 3" meaning they are all interchangable or debateable as to where they will be drafted. He also touched on this topic that the Jazz will take the best player...

    Following potential 2014 draftees

He didn't 'formally' dominate by virtue of being selected all conference 1st team or better, which was the requirement for group 1. EDIT - John Crotty with the Assist, one minute ahead...

    Following potential 2014 draftees

quick summary of link to article by LjJazzman for those non-readers. - Rex Chapman evaluated one-and-done players since 2006 . - Group 1: one year players who are 1st Team All-Conference or better (All American/ POY) and drafted top10, are essentially assured to be "good to great" NBA players...

    Fudge you Marc Stein!

Even knowing what i know now, (Horny is a good coach and we have a top 4 pick - which i'm not certain will turn out.) I still take this route. Prospective coaches will see that we have a top pick AND reasonable talent on the roster and be willing to come to a good organization like the Jazz.

And with the 4th pick, the Utah Jazz selects....

    Adding 5th pick info and changing the view a bit: 4th pick................5th pick 1,2 3 = 38%..........29% 4th = 10%............0% 5,6 = 51%.............62% 7 - 1%..................8% 8 - 0%...................1%

And with the 4th pick, the Utah Jazz selects....

Exum is PG - Burke will be good, so i could pass (and i know nothing but the hype about Exum) Smart is PG/SG - i like Burks enough to not need a similar player That leaves randle or Gordon. My full on scouting effort (a few NCAA games) showed randle gettin doubled and not gordon, Randle looks...

And with the 4th pick, the Utah Jazz selects....

What is your location? I hit the draft tool 50-100 times and estimate an over abundance of Utah at #1 - my internet point of presence is utah. So i think the tool is rigged to make you feel better...

Chad Ford's Mock Draft taken with other teams' preferences

At this stage in the process I think chad ford draft tool is just a gimmick. I didn't do a legit sample but Utah Jazz got the #1 pick a lot it seemed, so the outcome could even skewed a bit based on my IP address POP location. (Utah for me.) but it adds a bit of extra entertainment to the...

Chad Ford's Mock Draft taken with other teams' preferences

I ran Chad Ford’s Mock Draft a jillion times. Here is the Jazz draft scenario at each position 1. Jabari 2. Wiggins 3. Embiid 4. Randle 5. Exum 6. Smart 7. Gordon But taking into account Chad Ford’s opinion on the other team it sums to this: 1. Parker 2. Parker (jazz take Wiggins...
