I mostly agree, but it just makes me more apathetic thinking about how it doesn't matter how good/strategic you are, it's way more important to be lucky.

I was planning on picking Mark Jackson. He was obviously a decent player for his career, but by the time he was on the Jazz he was bad. On top of being bad on the court was the locker room stuff you alluded to. I think he probably should have gone higher in this draft.

I mostly remember how much better we were without Giricek on the team and the reported fights with Sloan. I just went and looked at Basketball Reference and he had a -5.6bpm the last year he played starter minutes for the Jazz.
