The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

It's an interesting question. I wasn't super high on this 3-6 range of this years draft, so gun to my head I'd say that the NOP pick has a higher expected value than Ace. You get a shot at Booz/Dybantsa/Pete which I would put as clearly better prospects, and then I don't much about 4-10 next...

The has sailed on Kessler->LAL most likely, but if LAL suddenly has future MIA picks I'm considering it for sure.

One of the most absurd trades I can remember, and from the ATL perspective they got the guy they wanted anyways at #23. ATL has improved their position so much in the last two summers.

We'd have to take on Monk....but idk that might be worth it and their moves don't have much logic to them. Slow Mo for Carter+Saric would be a nice heist IMO. Slow Mo could probably give them 10-15 good minutes a night in their pursuit of 35 wins. Whatever the situation, we must engage with...

I don't know if the Kings trying to get rid of Devin Carter is a bad thing or glowing endorsement.

Lowe floated out the idea of LeBron to Miami and I kinda love it for both teams. Riley goes all in one last time around LeBron, Bam, and Herro. Not great but anyone can win in the east. Lakers get some picks for LeBron instead of letting him expire in a year where the West is super competitive.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I’m not talking about people looking for clicks, I’m talking about the nerds who spend every waking moment of the day tweeting about the draft. Media consensus is different than draft twitter.

I don't do HS scouting, but it seems like the "nerds" who do have it: 1. Boozer 2. DP 3. Dybantsa

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

RFA's are getting destroyed right now because there is no cap space, but I think that changes next season. Rookie extensions can be a contention point and there's potential for a player to be moved before the season or at deadline if something doesn't get done and obviously there is some...

I'm seeing him tossed out as part of that logical salary match for Lauri (Tobias + Ivey), but I'd honestly put him at zero/neutral value in that kind of a deal. If you can trade Nurkic for Sexton I don't see a strong case for Ivey's value. I think there's still some perception of him that he's a...

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Curious if anyone has thoughts on Jaden Ivey? I'm thinking he is a player with decent potential to be moved between now and the deadline. He had a decent start to the season before he got injured, but I think it's notable that the Pistons did not get worse. He had major fans predraft around...

    Flip wins Summer League MVP.

Flip's development has gone nicely. I'm a believer in his jump shot. His defense is so bad I think he's likely more of a third big, but there still seems to be a lot of value to that. Compare Naz Reid's contract to the small, offensive first guards.

    Clayton or Collier?

At some point I hope we get excited about a player for who he is without a million different qualifiers and squinting so hard. Also, I freaking hate when discussion turns into “aren’t you a fan, shouldn’t you be happy?”

    Rookie Contract Power Rankings

I think that's fine I don't disagree with everything he said, but the "Jalen is big so he will also be big" is doing so much heaving lifting whereas "he needs to be able to shoot and dribble" can't just be an afterthought. One point I did agree with Locke on is that his motor needs to be...

    Rookie Contract Power Rankings

I didn't find Locke's glazing that convincing. It's not like Cody is the first ever prospect to ever have a long wing span. There's so much emphasis on his brother and his theoretical beefy self, but not much about his actual basketball skill.

    Following Potential 2026 Draftees

I'm still baffled on the trade that the Hawks pulled off. Real chance that they traded Queen for Newell+top 4 2026 pick. The Pelicans have the 6th lowest over under in the league. Despite the weirdness and shadow FO they've got going on the Hawks have made great moves and have improved their...

    Very brave take.

    Rookie Contract Power Rankings

I would be comfortable saying that we have 7 rookie contract guys who are more each more individually likely to get another deal than not which is pretty good. Cody and Collier would be 8 and 9 on my list, and I might give the nod to Cody just because he has much more paths to being a useful...

NBA Summer League Wild Overreaction Thread

I didn't really challenge it much because Harper was not an option for the Jazz, but I saw some of the arguments and they made a lot of sense to me. At the very least, they should have been open to trading down for someone else. Probably could have gotten a big haul for him.

Very impressed with picks 3-6 in this years summer league.
