    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

They have most of their future picks I believe. They have some young guys as well. The way I see it, LeBron’s chances in the east with Miami are better than the chances in the west with LAL. LAL is clearly not bowing down to LeBron’s wishes anymore and that has already caused a lot of tension...

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

I don’t know if it’s 1/4, but he definitely lost of value just by simply being a starter level player on low money. It’s like the Jazz are burning up all the winning value from him as possible and waiting for the last second….which is strange because that entire time the Jazz are trying to tank...

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

I'd agree, seems like they are more likely to be far apart vs having a deal agreed on in place. Whenever an RFA doesn't extend the potential for them to be moved is heightened. Definitely something to keep an eye on going forward.

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

I get the impression that neither side is unhappy with the partnership, but neither side is 100% committed. I'd agree that Hardy likely wants a more skilled big and I'd add that Kessler seems to take tanking/losing harder than most. While it's true that this preserves future cap space, I think...

    No Extension for Walker Kessler?

Usually this situation happens when the contract is easy aka the "fun max". I don't think Kessler is quite on that level so I'd say there's some potential for Kessler to be moved in the next year.

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

Yeah, I think it's fair to say Omar's antics are a little unique. He was never an agent in the first place so all he could do is draw public attention. From the Jazz perspective, I'm guessing it's a lot easier to deal with him than the non-public threats from a mega agent. He played the right...

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

I think these situations are always a mix. I think Tony was spot on with this situation right from the get go. I was just a more public version of what had always been going on already. It's probably a lot more comfortable to make Omar happy than it is someone like Rich Paul (who bragged about...

Who will be our opening night starting lineup?

I actually think he's on a path to be a quite good offensive player. He could easily get to that Monk/Sexton level and potentially even beyond that. It's the defensive side of the ball I'm worried about, and I'm not sure that can show at this time of the year. While defense takes effort and more...

Could the Jazz Milk Washington if The Ace Saga Sours?

But we have an update! The update is.....no mar Omar. Per our own @Tony Jones View: https://x.com/TheAthleticNBA/status/1970691582639931478 I know people got obsessed with what Omar was doing, but in the end this was predictable. It was just another episode of players trying to force their...

Who will be our opening night starting lineup?

Obviously we don't know if he can play right away, but assuming he can I'd want his minutes in the starting lineup. Even if he can only play 12 minutes a night, I'd want those with and against starting units.

Who will be our opening night starting lineup?

What I think will happen: Collier Key Ace Lauri Kessler What I would choose: Collier Ace Hendricks Lauri Kessler

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

**** that sucks for FVV. He's gotten a lot of criticism, but the fact of the matter is that the Rockets have been very mediocre without him. Neither Amen or Reed have shown they can really handle like a PG/Primary, so they really need one of them to step it up. Aaron Holliday is pretty great for...

    Training Camp 2025

I think we will buyout some of the vets midseason and convert Harkless to an NBA contract.

    Training Camp 2025

I think Key-WCJ is a good pairing for their developments. They can play some with and without the ball without taxing the other too much. With Collier, for everyone's sake he's got to dominate the ball and that would force Key/WCJ to be more off the ball and not get as many ball handler reps...

    Training Camp 2025

I wonder which direction they try to go with Brice's development. The guy can clearly shoot it, but his BBIQ was truly awful last season. He does have some scoring chops that could allow him to play more with the ball in his hands, but I also wonder if it's time to really hone into an off ball...

    Training Camp 2025

I think the main thing we'll see is more games minutes for Lauri/Kessler, especially at the beginning. The next thing would be minutes for the other vets. I think Nurk/Niang/Anderson are going to be better winning players than a lot of our young guys, but I still think Hardy will strike a...

    Training Camp 2025

Both guard positions tbh. Lauri and Kessler are givens, and I think Ace really should as well although it’s probably not a big deal to ease him in. I would personally start Collier+Brice, but what matters most is the lineup combinations. I’d want to pair Collier with Lauri for sure.

    Training Camp 2025

26/28/30 could have been unprotected except for 30. If their 30 pick landed between 21-30 it goes to Wizards, otherwise it would (in this scenario) go to the Jazz. Curry would be 39 so he may not be retired, but would likely be retired for 30 and they also could swap every other year through 31...

    Training Camp 2025

Obviously Lauri needs to have good health (and he might already have some issues), but it’s just a tough situation for him to perform in. I’d probably pair him a Collier together as much as possible. I’m still not sure Collier is an NBA caliber player, but he is the type of player that should be...

    Training Camp 2025

I don't think Lauri has negative value, but he probably has 1/4 or 1/2 of the value he had at this time last year depending on how you rated him there. If he has a so-so season, he will be negative. He needs to perform at least at the level of his second season w/Utah. But even then, I'm not...
