And while Trae is not 1:1 to Key, I do think his value is relevant to Key's. There was a time where a player with Key's production would be consider a no questions asked, fun max. The environment is different now with the aprons and also how teams value defense. We'll need more data points to...
Wrt to Key being a small guard and clutch defender....I don't think it really matters how small you are. It's just a matter of being a good defender. Lowry and FVV were both tiny but also great defenders. I am not really a believer in the predictive power of clutch performance, but kudos for...
I think the "we can just tank later" is an all time dumb argument. Truthfully, I think people just want to enjoy wins and that's fine with me. But there's no way people actually believe in that as a sound strategy.
Yeah I'm truly surprised is mistook this thread for being about clutch play and the ability to close games when the entirety of the thread and discussion is about clutch stats and performance.
My thoughts on clutch stats are that they don't have much predictive power in terms of winning playoff...
They're probably checking on trades to see if that route is viable....I think the worst option would be to make a move for the sake of making a move. If no good trade is out there, I think it kinda just makes it a bad choice but doubling down would be the very worst.
Here you go: The answer is "Yes" and the reasoning behind it is because their performance this season as whole is convincing enough to me.
The thread is called "Could you win with Lauri and Key being your closers?" and the entire post is about clutch stats and performance. There is no argument...
I threw out my take and committed to it, you just don't like it. I don't believe in the predictive value of these stats nor do I believe in using them to make decisions on. Why? Because by nature these stats are unreliable due to the SSS. That's not shade, that's just my opinion making strong...
Our defense in the clutch has been better than our offense, which brings up another reason why I hesitate to rely on clutch stats much. We only focus on offense and the theatrical ending.
And if that were true, you still couldn't prove it based on the SSS. What I'm really saying is the clutch stats are unreliable and wouldn't build my franchise around it.
I think clutch strategy is a real thing as the flow of the game is different. I guess what I'm saying is that I don't believe in the clutch gene as much as believe in "the results are random". Teams and players bounce back and forth between clutch and non-clutch all the time and that's just the...
