Funny thing about my theory is that it would actually make Danny the nepo hire, not Austin.

I stick by my theory that Danny did the dirty work so Austin can start with a clean slate. If you think about it Danny was always a stop gap solution and he repeatedly said he is part timing the job out of retirement. Why didnt they wait 1 more year to hire him? Maybe there was some other team...

    Can The Ainges Resist Zion?

I think Zion is the embodiment of the term broken goods. He makes AD look like iron man, if you compare their (age) corresponding seasons.

Havent done any real analysis but based on ability to shoot off balance I would also probably put Svi ahead of Brice. His shot is quick and very compact.

Upside in what role? What is "his job" in a contending team? He is a 3rd year player. We cant use the "draft prospect logic" in analyzing him anymore and marvel his shot form or whatever. I dont even care that he has poor efficiency this year, my problem is I dont see any other value from him...

Also I dont think Svi being healthy scratch is a straight up tanking move but sort of 50/50 in that category. My theory is that they are pushing one last ditch effort to see what Brice can do, but I gotta feeling he may be gone soon. We need to do a lot of clean up work on the roster before...

So many people in here are fooling themselves. Hardy isnt in on any "tanking schemes". Closing this game with Kyle Anderson proves that as well as playing Lauri 39 minutes on a B2B (albeit latter could be "All-Star campaigning"). If he wanted the other result, he could have put Flip at C in the...

Cody Williams Hype and Appreciation Thread

Unfortunately I agree with you on this. He is flirting with the Snell Line almost every game and you cant count on him to produce any stat to the box score consistently. He is also a complete non-spacer who even gets ignored by his teammates when standing alone in the corner. Dude has 6 double...

Oh wow its worse than I thought. Shot clock analysis: We allow a total of 41.0 three point attempts per game (2nd most in the NBA to Pelicans 42.0) In 22-18 clock range we allow 6.4 attempts (2nd most to Knicks) In 18-15 clock range we allow 8.6 attempts (2nd most to Knicks) In 15-7 clock range...

I dont really get why we consistently play 5-6 feet away from the ball above the break, and then stay glued to the ground when contesting shots taken from there. Its as if we are afraid of driving so much that we just simply allow the other team to play lazy offense and sling 3s at will...

Lauri was feeling it and we were in the game until the last few minutes. He wants to play big minutes every night and this time Hardy simply couldnt deny him.

This was the 2nd worst game from Key since the early days of December, yet he still put up 22 points and 9 assists. Too bad he lost the ball as much as he did and wasnt efficient with this scoring. Lauri instead was on fire and kept punishing GSW lack of size all game. Cody had 2nd game in a...

    2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

The tankers are just super focused on win/loss min-maxing and few of them are pushing hard that development has strong correlation with quantity of minutes, while not even addressing quality. I personally believe low quality PT can even be net negative for development, albeit usually its still...

Its also one area where optimal development clashes with tanking. You cant learn DHO, PNR and other screen plays proper if you are runnkng those plays with someone who is trash at it.

From here on out are you cheering for us to win or lose?

For sure. Anytime something like that happens it also immediately makes headlines, and I'm pretty sure there are phone calls made as well.

In game tanking is also problematic for gambling reasons. Lineups/availability affect the betting lines but if you start pulling shenanigans in games and especially in clutch minutes people will take exception to that.

Good thoughts. I would like to add that optics matter, and Lauri+Key being the 3rd best scoring duo works against us on that department. People are already wondering how our record can be this bad with those 2 playing the way they are. It doesnt add up.

Yeah as I said I wanna keep the pick. But if they get on some hot run qnd make it all the way to playoffs there are benefits to that as well. Just less of them.

His support stats are just awful (per36 or % or however you wanna look at them). This game did not change his status in my mind, even if it was one of his best games with the varsity team.

Its not the only argument. I'm on the team that thinks our better option is to NOT lose the pick, but I'm also 100% aware that our 3 key guys (Lauri, Key and coach Hardy) have zero playoff experience/proof in their current roles. Even being one-and-done has value in terms of learning and this...
