Gobert, Hayward, and Ingles were the only players to definitely improve from last season. They all get A's.
Favors, Hill and Hood were primarily injured for good chunks of the season. Out of those three, only Hill lived up to his expectations. They all get C's.
Lyles and Burks both get F's...
Clearly he meant D-League All-Star game in which I think Burks has a great shot of getting. I mean, he'll MAKE the team but they'll need to find an injury replacement come February.
That being said, it is impressive that we were able to replace Burke/Burks/Kanter with Exum/Hood/Gobert so quickly. Front Office is doing something right.
Since joining the Jazz back in 2011 he's played in 65% of their games. What a waste of money/talent.
Crazy to think just a few years ago we thought this would be the future:
Burke
Burks
Hayward
Favors
Kanter
Now it's just Hayward and Favors left.
Totally forgot we live in LA and that the Jazz won't be on TV other than them playing a local team buuuuut saying that why not do a viewing party when they are in SLC playing an LA team.
They play the Lakers in SLC on Friday October 28th then they play a LA team again on Thursday January 26t...
Can't make it that day got my brother-in-laws bday but I'd like to respectfully question why you would schedule the viewing party on a day the Jazz play in LA? Wouldn't a lot of potential jazzfanz be at the game.
Its okay we got lucky to make the WCF in 2007 when we played the Rockets in the first round and then the 8th seed Warriors in the second round. To me playing the 8th seed is far more luckier then playing a good team with an injured player.
I'm not saying he's not or he won't be. I'm just saying that we need to have better PG play then we've had the past few seasons and if (there's still a high if with Exum) he doesn't pan out we'll have a surplus of bigs we can trade for an elite PG.
I think this is one of the reasons why extending Favors this offseason is a wise move. If Lyles pans out we can use him or Favors (or Gobert to an extent) to hedge the fact that Exum might not pan out. In 2 or 3 years when we know more, we can dangle Lyles or Favors for a legit PG.
Not sure if this has been posted before since the book came out late last year but have you guys read Home Is Burning by Dan Marshall. It's about a guy from SLC who's dad develops ALS (on top of his Mom having cancer for most of his life). He's living in LA at the time and moves back to SLC to...
I do think they'll drop a game or two against a bad team but the only 3 playoff teams they face are all beatable, they probably will lose to Dallas on the road but I think they can definitely beat Chicago and Detroit at home. If they win those 2 home games, then they can drop 2 games to a bad...
Not sure if this has been posted or not, but we have 16 games until the All-Star Break, just 3 of those 16 games are against playoff teams (vs Detroit, Chicago, Dallas) and only one is on the road (dallas game). We should be able to go at least 12-4 in that span. I wouldn't be surprised if we...
Anyone watch this new docu-series on Netflix yet? If you are a fan of Serial or the Jinx, it's even better. Quite possibly the most entertaining and bizarre 10 hours of TV I have ever seen. I highly recommend it. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/making-a-murderer/s01/
Marc Gasol missed 23 games a couple years back with a similar injury...you can see how he did right after he came back (in January) as well as how he progressed the rest of the season. Once his minutes were back to normal he looked just as good as before the injury. Lets hope Gobert is the...
