How many times has Cy brought up Scotty Hopson as a throw in piece in this thread?
If the deal is Favors, Burks and #23
OR
Favors, #5 and #23
I like it even more!!!
We end up with Wiggins and Burks or Wiggins and Gordon/Vonleh/Embiid.
Man I hope DL can get this deal done!
OK, for everyone that blasted me in the other thread...
If this is the proposal, it is EXACTLY what I was saying. You can have Burks or another draft pick, but not both!
The deal sweetener is the #23. I'm ok with that. This draft has a comparable player to Alec Burks in the 20's. And hold firm on the pick protection. Jazz will be in the lottery next season, likely top-10. Can't build a playoff team overnight in the WC with a young Wiggins.
Philly doesn't have a center to offer Cleveland and that is what they need most. Sit tight, Dennis, you're dealing from a hand of strength on this one.
Millers are letting religion get in the way of their thinking. No Gail, God is not going to award Utah a championship because they have a Mormon on the team. But those merchandise sales!!!
Damn the merchandise sales. I never buy player jerseys but I'll buy a new hat and a couple of over-priced t-shirts if you let DL draft Wiggins.
I'm just saying that if the last part of the deal comes down to the #23 OR Alec, I'm ok with that. I LOVE Alec. But Jazz can get a pretty good SG or SF later in the draft to put in the rotation with Wiggins and Hayward.Deosn't mean we'll draft him.

You saying there is a specific player that is similar to Alec's game or just someone who has a similar value?
Burks is fun to watch, but he's not irreplaceable.
I know it's probably all a smokescreen to try and pry more from the Jazz or other teams, but here is the latest on Cleveland and the #1 pick:
"Of the offers they've received, a source says the Cavs aren't enamored by either the Sixers' offer (Thaddeus Young and the No. 3 pick) nor the Jazz's offer (Derrick Favors and the No. 5 pick). However, the Cavs do have some interest in the Magic's offer of Arron Afflalo, the No. 4 pick and the No. 12 pick."
