I've had two people very close to me go thru this. One of which was dramtically brutal and she is the strongest person I personally know. Her ordeal is horrifying.

So I do not make that joke but I am not offended by those that do or those that find it funny.
 
Fwiw i also like poop jokes, dick jokes, incest jokes, necrophelia jokes, yo mama jokes and knock knock jokes.

If bentley would have replaced "raped" with "kicked in the nuts" in his last couple of posts then i would have found that quite funnu as well
 
I don't know anyone who has been raped (at least I hope I don't), but I also cringe at that word. It's a very harsh word.

see, you are using it in a more serious "thinking about people actually getting raped" manner. that aint funny.

using it in a way that doesnt make you actually think about sexual assault is the way to go.

for instance if i drop something heavy in my foot and use the word ****, you are not going to think of poop because i was using the word in place "shoot" or "dang"

but if i say im going into the bathroom to take a ****, then im talking about poop.

When bentley used the word "rape", i didnt picture a sexual assault, i pictured the cavs taking advantage of us in a basketball player swapping type of way.

when you talk of women being raped i picture sexual assault.
 
I think kicked in the nuts is funnier anyway

If you're in a bad mood or looking to be offended then a lot of comedy is off-limits for you. If you're just using this to demonstrate your pious indignation then pat yourself on the back while I laugh at you.

But I wasn't even trying to make a joke. I was just using a metaphor to illustrate what cleveland is wanting to do to us. Creative writing? Met-a-phor? They don't want to actually rape us. Relax dude.

More I think about this, the more I think it's a smokescreen:
Afflalo vs. Favors: Derrick is more of a need for Cleveland. Bigs are valued more than guards. Cleveland already has Waiters.
#4 vs #5 - not that much of a difference unless the Cavs are sold on Vonleh and believe the Magic will take him.
#12 vs. Burks. Burks contributes right away. Players like LaVine, Harris, Warren may all be available at #12. Decision is rookie contract over ready 6th man/possible starter

The rumor from the article doesn't include Burks in the trade. As stated in the quote, Orlando's offer is the best of the three.
