10 reasons the Jazz need to rescue Ronnie Brewer from the D-league

Never liked Brewer. His defense was over rated, he couldn't guard guys he just jumped into passing lanes to get steals. If he missed the steal the other team scored, which he did a lot. He couldn't defend on the ball very well either. Besides getting steals I'm not sure there was anything Brewer did that was ever more than poor by NBA standards.

They unceremoniously dumped him because the discussions they had with his agent before the season began went nowhere. I remember the reports in the DN stating that they were not even close on salary figures. So Utah traded him to at least get something in return.

Brewer was basically a replacement level player. He was a nice enough guy, but not really good enough to justify a bigger salary. Easily replaced. And I think his post-Jazz career showed that.
 
The Jazz made a big mistake in drafting Brewer. What he could do well, AK could do better, and since neither could shoot, having them both play together presented a liability on offense. The Jazz should've looked for a shooting guard, which they actually got when they picked up Korver and which Miles actually became after he left the Jazz (actually more of a SF). RB was never that good in his prime so now at this stage, don't see how bringing him back could be justified
 
Why we should sign Brewer:

1. Nostalgia
2. Pillow-fort mentorship for the younger guys

What he's not allowed to do if we sign him:

1. Shoot three-pointers
 
Call him up on the cheap... see how he fares under Snyder. Couple of ten day contracts would be enough to know.
