If the #5 pick is now considered "optimistic" then we really need to reexamine our definition of tanks.
To me, if we aren't going to tank then it's time to trade Kanter and other pieces for vets for a playoff push so we can get our asses kicked by SA, Porty, or okc.
I'm not seeing a tank job nor any effort to develop the young players. If this is going to be the last year we have Corbin, Marvin, Jefferson, and Hayward, we might as well use them for all they're worth and give them the 8th seed they so much desire.
I literally cannot think of another more infuriating jazz season. If it weren't for the 2 New York dumpster fires, I would call our franchise the most dysfunctional in the NBA. A lame duck coach who is trying out for other teams. A bunch of vets seeking contract extensions. A bunch of kids riding the bench. And an ownership team that doesn't know what the hell they're doing. They've completely abandoned the plan that they had committed to at the end of last season
As fans.... What keeps us going? The hope of obtaining another role player this draft? One that will take Hayward's place? Oh joy. Another 5 years of mid teen picks?
If you're going to tank then do it right.
