Lol at all the depression on this board lately. I suggest half of you get medication. If you expected this to be easy then you were fooling yourself.

Good night for the tank though. Philly and Orlando both won.

Jazz are now 1 1/2 behind the bucks for 2nd place. Orlando is now 2 1/2 games behind us and Philly is 1 1/2.

Standings:

1. Bucks 6-24
2. Jazz 9-24
3. Knicks 9-21
4. Sixers 9-21
5. Kings 9-20
6. Nets 10-20
7. Magic 10-20
8. Cavs 10-20
9. Bulls 11-19
10. Lakers 13-18
11. Grizzlies 13-16
12. Pelicans 13-15
13. Nuggets 14-15
14. Wolves 15-15

The Kings aren't giving us much breathing room. I wonder if that Gay move was really to stealthily tank.

The Raptors have been a small tear since he left. I agree that the Kings will be stiff competition. They will turn it up as the season progresses. They just seem to be incompetent from the FO to the ball boys.

Chad Ford summed up what we all felt like before the season, but it seems like sentiment has changed since we started the season so poorly.

I'm not sure if anyone in the Jazz front office would ever admit to tanking. Their moves this summer made sense for them, with or without an epic draft on the horizon. But it's clear that they are fine with what's happening in Utah.

The young guys are getting their minutes, and they've been competitive at times since Trey Burke returned. So call it "tanking" or "rebuilding," but the Jazz have no intention of trying to make a move for the now. Everyone is on the same page regarding what this season needs to be.

He also said that the Bucks owner continues to push to make the team better right now, and not tank. He hinted that there might be a trade on the horizon to improve the bucks immediately. I bet there is still no way their gm trades their top pick this year, but what if they said they would do it for Hayward and a future pick?

Marvin Williams and Gordon Hayward for Caron Butler and the right to swap draft picks.

Nah man, we need to receive an additional draft pick for trading Hayward. He is a good player.

You're talking about the potential difference between the 8th-14th and the 1-5th picks, here. Hayward is not worth that and Milwaukee would laugh at the proposal just to swap.

If the Jazz make that trade, then they likely wouldn't end up trading picks. As bad as Hayward has been shooting at times this season, he still makes the team better. So does Marvin Williams. They both go to Milwaukee, they might make a playoff push in the east, and the Jazz are back in tank mode. We would need their pick straight up or their pick next year.

And the Jazz are worse themselves, anyway. Trading Marv and Hayward for a right to swap picks offers massive insurance for the Jazz to get into the lottery either way.

Hayward makes Milwaukee a lot better team now and in the future. Sure the jazz will be worse, but why trade Hayward just to get worse? We need to trade him for something. That way we get worse and get something in return.

How does getting a franchise player in this draft vs. not = not getting something in return to you? On the Pacers, Spurs, Heat, Thunder, or any real contender, is he even your 3rd best player? I'm not convinced, though keeping him for a price suitable his role is something I'd like to do in a perfect world.
