What's new

14th Tank Platoon

10 teams are tanking till now. So it means this year draft is considered high-value. The only teams that are snubbing the draft are the Jazz and the Bulls. We will see these wins where will bring us.

I'm feeling fine about it - in that I love seeing the young guys stepping up and playing well. I think that it helps build confidence going into next season and there's Portland Trailblazer type of potential for this team starting next year. It doesn't really matter if they win or lose as long as the Core5 and Gobert all play a lot and improve between now and the end of the season.

I'd feel even better about it if Dennis Lindsey can flip Marvin and Jefferson for some assets here between now and the trade deadline. Both guys can help a team AND expiring contracts have value IF you're willing to take on a longer contract. I know that many are getting frustrated because the young guys are playing well and the team is winning. . . but even getting rid of Marvin and Jefferson isn't going to change that trajectory. I want more playing time for all of the Core5 (together preferably) and I'd like to see more of Gobert and Clark (or have Clark sent down to the D-league for the rest of the season to get some tape on him) so the Jazz front office can make the BEST DECISIONS in the draft and free agency.

We ain't no good at this tankin thang. You do have to consider that our last 2 games are at home against teams on the second night of a back to back, so those are tough to lose. I still have hope of ending around 6 because the schedule does get tougher, especially in March/April. We just have to hope that a few teams out of LAL, NO, Bos, Cle, NY Det, Sac can go on semi winning streaks.

I see Favors and Burke making some strides, if Burke starts making his shots I think we got a real good player on our hands. Burks too but he wont amount to that much unless he learns to shoot tbh (although I hope he does).

Lakers will get Jabari

We will get Marcus smart.

Lakers will sign a big free agent or two.

We won't. And 2 starters from our current roster will flee our corpse for new contracts with contenders.

Corbin will be reupped. He will love these guys.

Lakers will be back into the playoffs. We will be back to a 8-10 spot in the west.

Yay

Hopefully Trey gets injured soon.

His injury needs to save this franchise from itself.

It is better that one season should perish than an entire decade be wasted in mediocrity. I will happily take Jabari Parker or Andrew Wiggins over whatever "progression" our kids are making with Marvin and Jefferson.

Assuming they lose to Golden State on Friday, they'll be 16-30 through 46 games with 36 games left to play.

Of those 36 games, half are at home (8-11) and half are away (8-19). They have a 6 game road trip vs. East teams and 8 pairs of back-to-back games. They also have 18 games against teams currently qualified for the playoffs, as well as 8 games against the five teams (Detroit, New York, Memphis, Denver and Minnesota) that are still fighting for the last playoff spots in each Conference.

The schedule gets brutal here over the next two weeks, then they could face significant changes in the roster at the trade deadline, things ease up a bit for their stretch against Eastern teams, but they're on the road a lot during that time, all of the young guys are playing increased minutes and bigger roles (so hitting the wall is a real possibility for all of the Core5 guys - especially Burke) and then the schedule gets hard again at the end against a bunch of teams likely pushing to make the playoffs.

They need 14 wins to get to 30. Where do they come from? I think they finish 12-24 to end up 28-54 and end up picking 5th or 6th overall in the draft.
