Honestly depends on a lot of factors. Lowes/HD will give you free install which is nice, but you're dealing with a sub that's a mystery where some local companies will usually have a bit more control. That said, pretty easy to raise hell with a big box store but be weary that install dates could be quite delayed as most carpets need to be special-ordered and supply chain is pretty pathetic right now.

For smaller companies, check on AFS Flooring. They do their own installs vs. sub-contract so you have a bit more piece of mind.
