Lamar Green (1975)
Francisco Elson (2011)

Lamar Green was selected by the NO Jazz in the expansion draft, and played in 15 games of the inaugural season he had 16 assists before being waived. He went on to finish the season with the Virginia Squires where he averaged about 16 minutes a game.

On this day in 2010 Francisco Elson was making arrangements with his agent to fly to SLC to sign his contract the next day. Francisco played 9 seasons in the NBA but only joined the Jazz for the Mega Meltdown 10-11 season. The Jazz were not sure about Memo's health, Boom had been traded to Minny and were not sure they were bringing Fesenko back or not so Francisco joined the team. In his first game Elson grabbed 8 rebounds in 16 minutes (rounded) and looked promising. However he missed 16 games that season for a variety of injuries and DNPCD. The most peculiar injury was his big toe that was injured because he wore a new pair of LeBron James Nikes to play in before he had properly broke them in or fitted them to his feet.

Fransico did not play in the INFAMOUS Chicago game where the Chicago Jazz beat the Utah Jazz despite Milsap and Al holding Boozer to 6 fgs on 16 attempts and scoring 20 & 26 points themselves. Jerry Sloan used 16 substitutions in that game, including a strange 2pg combination of Earl Watson or Price guarding Derrick Rose who had been killing Torrey Ellis all game.

At #16 in the all-time Jazz ranks:

Games: Paul Millsap (462)
Minutes: Matt Harpring (12,251)
Points: Mark Eaton (5,216)
Rebounds: Ben Poquette (2,121)
Assists: Bryon Russell (869)
Steals: Carlos Boozer (364)
Blocks: James Hardy (235)

Speaking of Torrey, he will only need to average 698 assists each season for 16 more seasons to tie John Stockton's all time assist record.

John Stockton had his first game of 16 or more assists on 2 Dec 1985, only 9376 people were in attendance at the Salt Palace. Thurl bailey and Jeff Wilkens each had 16 pts in the game but the jazz were lead in scoring by the rookie Karl malone who scored 16 points on fgs and one more point on five ft attempts.

The draft pick the Suns used to get Lamar Green was traded to the Suns with Jim Fox by the Pistons in exchange for McCoy McLemore (quite a name). In his final NBA season (1976-77), Fox played 16 MPG for the then-New York Nets. The Nets were ranked 16th in opponent FTs. McLemore (who interestingly was selected in 3 expansion drafts) had back-to-back seasons of averaging about 16 points per 36 minutes.

In their 16th season in the league, 1989-90, the Jazz had a player named Raymond Brown who played 16 games, scoring 16 points. Karl Malone had 16 3's that year, as did Delaney Rudd. Malone's percentage was better. The Jazz won their 16th game of the season against the Mavs. The Jazz only played one game on the 16th of any month that season, losing to the Spurs on February 16.

In their 16th season in Utah, 1994-95, the Jazz were 16th in the league in blocks. Jamie Watson had 16 offensive rebounds. The Jazz's 8 (half of 16) highest-paid players earned roughly $16million. Mark Eaton (16th on the Jazz all-time ranks for points) reitred September 28, 1994. Current Jazz head coach Ty Corbin was traded to the Hawks on September 16, 1994. A draft pick was sent to the Hawks along with Corbin. The player selected with that pick, Cuonzo Martin, combined for 16 points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in his NBA career. The Jazz beat the Mavs in their 16th game that season. The Jazz went 2-1 when playing on the 16th, beating the Pacers and Spurs in January and February while losing to the Cavs in March.

Enes Kanter had 16 rebounds in the playoff series against the sputs last year.

In the second game against the Spurs Kanter played 16 minutes and grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 8 pts. It was enough to lead the team in rebounding and be one fg short of leading in scoring as well.

In the fourth game Derrick Favours got the start, he scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Deron Williams (aka Torrey Ellis) earned $16 million last season, the final season of a contract extension he signed while with the Jazz.

Carlos Boozer scored 16 PPG in the 2008 playoffs with the Jazz after averaging 21.1 during the 2007-08 season.

With the 16th Pick in the 1984 NBA Draft the Utah Jazz drafted some point guard out of Gonzaga who turned out to be pretty good.

I've got to credit your creativity for getting that Karl Stat to 16.

My stat for Karl is that he took Louisiana Tech to the Sweet 16 for the first and only time in their history in 1985.

Also, I recall Mo Williams saying he would wear #16 this year. His kids picked it because there are 6 in their family with one on the way.

Speaking of Torrey & Bobby, they were 'unavailable' for the Jazz game against the Pistons on Dec 14, 2005. The Pistons were looking for their 16th win of the season and were lead in scoring by rasheed and Rip Hamilton who each had 16 points. The Jazz who were also without Boozer who was 'injured' were lead by AK (22pts, 12 reb, 7 ast) and Memo (24 pts, 12 reb, 2 3pts). Matt Harpring was + 16 for the game, and the two back up point guards combined for 16 points.

Bobby Williams, later served 16 months in a Michagan Jail after being extradited from Utah where he arrested with pot in his butt.

The Jazz took Dee Brown with the 16th pick of the second round of the 2006 draft (46th overall). He had a total of 16 points and rebounds in the 2007 playoffs.

The jazz scored 16 points in the first quarter of Jerry SLoan's first game as head coach.

JaZZ ended the game with 16 turnovers and lost the game to the Dallas Mavericks.

Jerry would get his first win the next night against the LAC.

In Jerry's last game as head coach of the Jazz, Boozer had 16 FGAs for the Bulls.

no team that ever had kirk snyder on their roster has anything to show for him.

- the jazz included snyder in a package that brought greg ostertag back. greg's career was over 60 games later.
- no/okc then traded him to houston for a 2nd round draft pick who has never played in the NBA (marty leunen)
- houston then traded him to minny for gerald green, who they later waived after he played 4 minutes in 1 game.
- minny played hmi in 27 games before letting his contract run out.

4 teams who went after snyder and none of them were any better for it, in the short term OR even in the long term.

francisco elson wore #16 for the jazz... his entire post-jazz career has amounted to 16 on-court minutes.

after being selected 16th, stockton finished in the top 7 for assists in a season 16 different times in his career. he also has a total of 16 all-nba or all-defensive team selections (5 time all-D 2nd team, 2 time all-NBA 1st team, 6 time all-NBA 2nd team, 4 time all-NBA 3rd team). he had a total of 16 steals in all-star games.
