2010 NBA Finals - Boston celtics vs L.A. Lakers

Pretty amazing story I just heard. Apparently, after the Celtics beat the Lackers in L.A. back on Feb. 18th, Rivers asked all of the players, coaches, and training staff for $100 each. He told them, don't worry, you'll get it back in June.

When the team arrived at the Staples Center visitor's locker room today, Rivers pulled an envelope stuffed with approximately $2600 from above the ceiling.

The players went nuts.

Well played, Rivers. Well played.

If that is true it is pretty much one of the coolest things ever. What is your source on that story?

lakers haven't lost at home yet. if celtics want to win this series they'll need to steal a game. preferably game 1.

....Stockton and Malone were intense, Bird and Magic were intense.....Garnett is just an out of control hot head! Don't know much about what he does off the court....but what he does on the court is there for all to see! If he stays under control and uses his head this series, the Celtics have a great chance of taking the Lakers out! If he doesn't, they probably won't.

One, you're a moran. Two, I'd rather have an intense "out of control hot head" on my team than some *****.

Anyone see that double tech early? Van Gundy and Jackson were saying, "That's a heck of a takedown by Artest." Really? It looked like Pierce boxed Artest down and hooked his arms backwards and around Artest's hips to cause the skirmish. Am I wrong?

Did they really just say Fisher would have his number retired if he'd played for the Celtics? <Yawn>. Someone give Marc Jackson a muzzle and staple it to his lips permanently.

Here come the refs doo doo do doo. Here come the refs, and I said, it's over. It's over.

In the flopping hall of fame maybe. that flop after he got his shot blocked from behind was one of the worst i've seen

I'm not watching any of this nonsense, but I was a bit tickled to read that Boston won in LA.

There were a lot of iffy calls. Kobe's 5th call which was called a charge was a game changer and a bad call. Davis had his feet set way after Kobe was in mid-air, thats a blocking foul. After reviewing the outbounds call between KG and Gasol they kept it Celtics ball. I dont know what they saw different than me, but it looked as if it was LA ball. Thats when they were down 3 with a minute and a half at that point. The league will be extending out this series, im almost certain it will go to 7.

Wt....f? Did you see some of the phantom calls Kobe was getting? His little And-1 on Perkins, where they showed it in slow motion and there was no contact whatsoever?

It sure would have been nice if Ray Allen could have shot like this all those many times against us when he was with Milawakee and later Seattle. If he would have given them anything tonight, they would have won.

KG looked like the Big Ticket of the Twolves. He was fantastic.

I wish Rondo were more aggressive, every time he drives good things happen. I think they'd be better playing off Rondo rather than trying to free up Ray Allen and Paul Pierce all the time. I understand that they're fantastic players, but they're struggling right now. While Rondo can penetrate it seems at will even when Kobe defends.

Anyway, is it just me or are these games really hard to watch? They almost feel like watching two college Football teams who just pass and punt the ball all game long. How long did this last game last? 5 hours? Sheesh!

It seems like every time down the court the refs are stopping play. Whether it's to call a foul, review a play, or to just talk to themselves. The broadcasting is horrid enough with Mark Jackson and that other dude who never shuts up. It makes even even worse when the refs ruin any type of rhythm to the game.
