What's new

2011 draft.....

If you could get a younger Al Jefferson would you? Having a front court where both players are 20 and 19 would be exceptional. And I would say Kanter has shown the ability to have more range, be a better rebounder and a better passer. Basically, he's a smarter player. And I wouldn't say 6'10 with a 7'1 wingspan is undersized. IMO.

Based on what? He may never be as good as Jefferson, you are basing everything off one game he did good against his young American peers?

He's a taller version of Ed Cota. And he would have to make drastic improvements to his game to be even an average starter. Maybe he will, but from what I've seen right now, I don't think he does.

I think that is pretty unfair, he kid has really good vision. If you have good vision as a PG, you can be a good starter.

Nobody knows. If we all for certain how these players would turn out then we wouldn't be having this discussion. This is just my opinion. And my opinion is that he's showing far more skills than Jefferson did at the same age and that in time, he will be a better player than Jefferson. Hell, you probably said the same thing about Kevin Love. About the same height, average athletically, why would he be better?

Is Kevin Love better than Al Jefferson as a center? I would say they are pretty equal.

He also shot 37% from 3 point land as a Freshman, I wouldnt call that terrible shooting.

Seriously....did you watch him play at all? Most of his shots from 3 point land were wide open looks. So yes, 37% from 3 on very open looks is bad shooting. Don't forget to point out his 41% shooting from 2 and his 69% shooting from the line. Not good shooting percentages.

Do you know who Ed Cota is? I believe he has some records at UNC and in the ACC....might wanna check them. He had pretty damn good vision too.

Ed Cota never even got drafted. I guarantee if Marshall came out he would be at least a early 2nd round pick.

I see him as a PG who is going to really develop his game in school, probably come out as a Junior or Senior, and be very polished. I think he could be a good starting NBA PG,maybe not great, but someone who can facilitate an offense.

He shredded some teenage camp, right? He might be the real deal, but I'm guessing Darko punished those same camps. If we draft him, I just hope KOC has really done the homework.

I am a Carolina fan forever and firmly believe Marshall will be much better than Cota!

Right now it may very well be (especially with Sullinger and perhaps Barnes staying in school) that there are only a couple of sure fired NBA stars in this draft so pretty much anybody else is a gamble. Of around the 6 possilbe intl players in the lotter I definitely think at least 1 is going to be a star so gotta consider drafting one of them.
