What's new

2011 draft.....

Valanciunas looks awful.

he has a high motor and a long wingspan, will become a solid player in this league, but his *** will get pushed around all the time. his upside, his best case scenario is andris biedrins (10-10 player to go along with 2 blocks a game). so, i'd much rather take kanter. valanciunas might become a solid defender and a very solid role player, but his play won't change games that much. enes kanter on the other side, has very solid chances to become one of the best big men and average 20-10 night in, night out.

I agree. I cant figure out the Noah comparo at all..........looks like the definition of 'milk toast'.

It's the motor/energy. He has the body of Biedrins with the nastiness of Noah. And before anyone says he is too skinny. He is 6'11 240 lbs, which is good size for a 19 year old. Has room to add more weight for sure,

He will be better than Biedrins. The big knock on Biedrins is that he doesn't care. He supposedly doesn't even like basketball and hated his coach.

I understand the high motor talk but haven't seen it in any of the videos I've watched. Maybe Im watching the wrong ones but nothing about him says "lottery pick"......even in this draft.

I'd take Enes WAY over Valanciunas. I somewhat agree with the KLove comparison -4rbs a game.

I'd take Bis ahead of Valanciunas as well.

Well, unfortunately intangibles and hustle plays/rebounding don't make highlight films. I'm not saying we take this guy at 3. I'm just saying I would rather make an effort to trade up our 12th pick and take him than I would waste the third pick on Kanter.

I think it's 90% certain that Enes is the guy and the Jazz find a guard or wing later in the draft.

Biedrens is soft, slow and stiff, and he has almost no offense. He's an okay rebounder and avg. defender for his size/length, and that's about it.

I put a lot of stock into players that can do things easily (or at least it appears easy). Kevin Durant scores easily, whereas Kobe no longer does. I like that Valanciunas has a motor and everything, but he's going to have to outwork everyone to succeed. Kanter on the other hand makes things look effortless, and I can easily see him dominate the boards. Apparently Coach Cal would have to take him out of practice to be able to show the other guys how to rebound, because Kanter was dominating everyone.
