What's new

2011 draft.....

Didn't DX also say he was like 6'6 at age 16 or 17, then shot up suddenly to 6'11? Late growth spurts would also explain awkwardness.

Haha. Goodness gracious, what was Locke's evaluation of Kanter? Is he the next Patrick Patterson?

Locke is fixated on hands. If a guy in one game he watches botches an entry pass or two, it means he has bad hands and will struggle in the NBA. It does NOT mean he botched a pass or two.

I always thought it was the exact opposite. That players with late growth spurts should be a lot less akward. I'm sure each case is different, but I remember reading about players like Hayward, TJones (UK), Tomic, all had growth spurts late and that is why they all have great touch and have good handles (minus Tomic).

Still waiting for some actual evidence why JV will not succeed. So far we have "awkward", "skinny", and "stiff". Most 18 year olds that have not filled out tend to look that way.

This is all conjecture. But when translating games, the eye test matters as much as anything does. The guy doesn't have any obvious skill to his game and if he really is a 7-footer with a 7' 6" wingspan he's probably Jeremy Evans-ing his way to rebounds against non-NBA bigs. I'm also waiting for what we find out from the Eurocamp in terms of measurements and things of that nature. Despite having played a lot more than any of the other overseas lottery picks, he's still the biggest mystery to me, at least when I watch him play and then see where he's projected. I just don't see it.

And as far as Givony goes, the guy's not perfect. He - just like anyone - has his darling picks and players he just doesn't like. Valanciunas seems like his darling based largely on pace-adjusted numbers and percentages. And that's fine, there are far worse thing to base an opinion on.

Actually, this is pretty astute. Way to go Dr. Freud. And in spite of Brooks' personal numbers his team sucked this year. He looks really talented so that should help him in workouts that are all about him, but as part of a team he may not be so great.

I'd rather take Fredette.

Thanks I am actually working on my psychology degree now. Been a hobby for years. Was working on a little explanation of his body language and voice inflections but I am too lazy today to go back over his videos.

I would LOVE to hear more. And I'm not being facetious.

I would also be curious to know anything that jumped out at you with other players (specifically Klay Thompson, but also Kanter, Knight, Williams, and Irving. Maybe even Hamilton).
