If the draft were to happen today, I think I'd plan to take Knight and Montiejunas, unless Williams slipped to #3, in which case, I'd take Williams and still plan to take Montiejunas.
Are you being sarcastic or do you really think udoh and aminu are that much better than Hayward?
Jazz front office, are said to be huge fans of Chris Singleton, so maybe that is why Chad Ford and Jonathan Givony continually put him at #12 in their mock drafts.
Wow. Tobias Harris is a bit of a reach, but ok.
Yes, there was sarcasm in that post. Last year many of the mocks nailed the top 8 players (perhaps not the order) but 9 was anyones guess. After the draft one of the local reporters, who knew the top 8 were mocked very closely, asked KOC what it was like to draft 9th in an 8 player draft.
KOC responded with some bite that every draft he'd been a part of seemed like there was a drop-off just before his draft postion. He even said something like if the jazz had drafted 6th they would see a drop-off at 5.
How many big trades has KOC ever made? The Dwill trade happened because they felt like they absolutely had too.
I don't see Millsap or Harris as "big trades." KOC - and the Jazz organization - have made trades before to upgrade a position. Giricek for Stevenson and then Korver for Giri. Hornacek replacing Jeff Malone. It's also not unprecendented for the Jazz to have an extremely promising young player replace a popular veteran (Green traded to make way for Stockton). Jazz might be looking at a shrinking cap and decide that having those big salaries for potentially backup players is just too expensive. I won't be surprised if one is moved. My bet is Harris, with the Jazz drafting Knight.
Highly doubt that. Throwing a 19 year old kid into the fire like that isn't really the Jazz style. Even DWill, who came out 2 years older than Knight, was given limited minutes the first year.
