Damn, the more I raad, Burks should be our guy. Elite-type athlete. Very good shooting stroke that shows a ton of promise. If we don't get lucky with the balls and land a pick around 6-8, Burks should be our guy. If we get lucky and could get Irving AND Burks, that trio with Favors would be sick.

I looked him up on DraftExpress after the trade and this is what they have to say about Burks:

While Burks has found instant success scoring at the rim, as evidenced by his 27 and 21-point efforts against Missourri and Texas respectively, he lacks the outside shooting ability that would make him a truly dynamic offensive threat. Capable of hitting shots when he can string together a few rhythm dribbles in place, Burks lacks fluidity in his long, slow release, doesn’t elevate well on all of his attempts, and subsequently isn’t a major threat to attempt or make many three pointers, hitting just 31%. Though he does show a high release point and compensates with a decent floater, which he often turns to in favor of stop-and-pop jumpers from the midrange, his ability to improve his shooting form will be key to future success.

Not saying he can't improve in the future, but is he going to be Ronnie Brewer II and would we be complaining about teams are able to back off him to clog the lane?

Burks doesn't do much for me at all. If we're operating off of "could" I'd take Singleton ahead of him if presented the choice.

And I still really like Justin Holliday.

Oh, I was sure Perry could play multiple positions.

I'm no expert, but Perry looks like a more athletic, slightly less skilled version of Lamar Odom--a lengthy, athletic finesse combo forward. I wish I could say he's Kevin Garnett, but I think that's an aggressive comparison.

Irving.

In my admittedly naive assessment, Derrick Williams is Michael Beasley with a little less athleticism and none of the idiocy (which is pretty good). If the Jazz are planning on rolling with Favors, Millsap, and Jefferson, he might not be the best fit here if the Jazz wanted to see what would happen with him at the 4.

Perry Jones isn't a 3. He might be a perimeter-oriented 4 in the vein of what Lamar Odom has become and that's awesome, but he's also soft and doesn't rebound. Having what appears to be three PFs already making up the big rotation, it doesn't make a ton of sense to me. If Jones was a homerun, then you have to go BPA.

I like Harris, but Irving looks like a perfect PG. Not only jet-quick player (like so many of the PGs that have been taking over of late), but has a very well-rounded game, a jumpshot, and has good size for the NBA which never happens. Use Harris to try to get that mystery wing or something. But Irving looks transcendent and pairing him with Favors (and even Hayward?) is one hell of a young core moving forward.

He could be a Larry Johnson-type player that puts up some big numbers, but struggle to make the big play when it really counts.

Terrence Jones seems to play a bit like a Tracy McGrady, which is great, and I think he should be on the Jazz's radar. Harrison Barnes looks like he could be a solid wing as well. I like his ability to handle and drive as well as face up.

Need to do more research, but their efficiency and basic statistics didn't jump off the page for me. I can say that if Harrison Barnes was once considered the consensus #1 that the talent has to be there. Considering he's a freshman, it seems more likely he's having growing pains and seizing on the opportunity could reap huge benefits, but I'm kind of talking out of my ***. Admittedly, I didn't do any research on this draft until Deron got traded, so I'm catching up.

I think Derrick Williams next to the right players could be a great 2nd option or best 3rd option in the history of the game. I think playing next to players with positional versatility would be important for him for switches and so he could switch positions but still allow other players to find their minutes. In that respect and in contrasting body types and skillsets, he seems like he would pair very well with Favors who isn't a 4/5 tweener, but a legitimate 4/5 option. I see Williams playing the 3 or 4 depending on the situation, but scoring in the massive variety that he does would cause some serious matchup problems for the other team.
