2011 draft.....

If all these lottery picks aren't declaring there is a much bigger story going on. I wonder if the Player's Association is reaching out to them and poisoning the well. It couldn't be agents or owners. But if the Player's Association is conspiring to wreck the draft, I can't figure out their angle. They'd be pissing off the lottery teams, mostly small markets, and that's their power base in negotiations.

Seem simpler than that to me. These guys are 19 and feel immortal. They believe their stock might go up even farther and they dream of the chance to win a National Championship. The lockout has them wondering if they'll be sitting around doing nothing next year while watching their teammates (who are begging them to stay) fight for glory without them. No poison in the well, just people making decisions.

I had no interest in Perry Jones, but he was at least good for pushing another pick down. Biyombo at 6? Could be the BPA

Definitely surprising about Jones. He has to sit out 5 games next year. He better have a great year or his stock will plummet.

I don't buy this at all. He had a mediocre year this year and is still projected top 10. The kid is so big and athletically gifted that he's pretty much top 12 no matter what.

Damn, I was actually somewhat interested in Jones at our 6th pick. BiSMACK would be interesting too, but I was really hoping the Jazz could get that 2nd/3rd scoring option at the wing position.

Uh oh should we get into the what position does Jones play argument again, but yeah at least he could have helped us get another player. Come on Barnes need to declare!

While he did not dominate his numbers are not that bad. Teams will expect him to dominate next year if he is going to be top 5

The thing is that, next year there will be a whole new batch of players with "potential" and they will out-hype the class above them because they will have the "what if" factor in their favor. That's how his stock will be hurt, because if teams dont see that improvement, his potential "rating" takes a hit. That being said, he is still 6'11 wing player, so I doubt he will drop that far.

I never said he'd be top 5. But you said if he doesn't have a great year, his draft stock will plummet (from about 6 where he seems to be on average now) which means you're pretty much saying he'd fall below 12 or so...pretty much in the mid to late teens.
