2012 Draft: Predraft Camps & Workouts

All this talk of Kyle O'Quinn tells me that he will not be around when we draft in the 2nd round.

Except Paul George can defend, and that is his biggest strength.

Went back and checked DX. Apparently defensive prowess didn't show up for George until workouts. His Fresno State days didn't really show much in that regard. George seems to be one of the rare ones who discovered more intensity as a pro than as a collegian.

He was also very weak and an inch or two shorter than he is now.

Great work.

If Quinn is available in the 2nd round that is a good pick though. He may only ever be our 4th big, but who knows, maybe someone goes down and gets a 10-20 game stretch of substantial playing time and he does great, becoming a tradeable asset.

If there is one thing I trust KOC on, it's drafting in the 2nd round.

I don't disagree with your comment. I am just saying there are a lot of other needs. I think there will be some good role players in this draft taken in the 2nd round.

If he is the BPA then you take him regardless but if there are two comparable players then you take a need PG/SF, where there is more of a possibility of them earning playing time. You could also draft Quinn and he comes to camp and blows you away so now the Jazz can keep a young cheap player and trade one of their assets like AJ/Millsap to get a very good SF or PG. Getting talent only opens doors for a lot more personnel changes. I think the kid has some NBA skills and seems mature and skilled so I certainly would have no trouble drafting him.

Lillard going through one of the hardest workouts I've ever seen. Grueling. Zero questions about what kind of shape he's in.

Lillard hitting just about every shot here despite being run into the ground by trainer.
