Kim English (6-6, 220), DX#55, ,Shot 45% fronm 3pt on almost 5 attempts per game, named All Portsmouth team, where he ended up playing pg for his team because he was better at it than the gaurds on his team. At combine he measured average, but showed well in sprint and agility compares well to Lilard and Rivers . Poor jumper, so send him to P3.

Purdue small forward Robbie Hummel (6-8, 215), DX 38th sr, 82 overall. Face up 4 with a good shot and bad knees.

Villanova guard Malik Wayns (6-2, 200), DX rank 77 , scoring pg, runs pnr, short arms, ave shooter.

Jazz like to do workouts with atleast 3 players because of the drills they run. 6 means there will probably be some 3on 3. Thank you KOC for giving us something to talk about.

Can he play?https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=YhYuXT3S48s&NR=1

The scouting report looks right, he can't jump which keeps him from finishing in the lane. His handle was not pg esq.

Over came a debilitating stutter, and sounds pretty good on camera

I'm meh on English. Good shooter (though he's always been a very average shooter until his senior year), but I think he'll be below average at everything else.

I like Kim English. I see Wesley Matthews traits in him.

I saw him play twice and both times he scored around 20 pts very efficiently, and i thought why is he not getting love in the Darft thread?
So i posed the question to the yodas of the darft thread (cyrone, pkm, hantlers, orangello) and was told that those couple games were most likely flukes and that he isn't really very good.

I am NOT hating on English, at all, but some reasons I'm not real high on him (mid 2nd, for me);

- Is his shooting a fluke? No way to tell, obviously, but he shot nearly 10% better from 3 this year than any of his previous collegiate years. Maybe he just worked hard in shot, I know .. but it concerns me a little.

- Also, his overall FG% .. He shot 13% higher this year than his previous best. Each of his previous 3 years he was high 30's in overall %.

- He appears pretty slow and non-athletic (worse than his combine numbers suggest).

I only watched a few clips--It seemed that he was a great shooter, but who puts bad shots in highlight videos? It looked like he understood where to go on the floor so that he would be open and his teammates could find him. But his release point looked low to me, and I never saw him shoot off the dribble or when someone was gaurding him. When he went to the basket, he looked slow and unathletic, or timid.

KOC talks about looking at players who who may have been overlooked because scouts were watching another more talented player. Or players who were capable of more but played within a team. Not a bad theory when you are dealing with incredible athletes, but how does it work for average athletes?

Jazz brass said they'll likely have a couple more workouts in Utah for prospective draftees. They're having a hard time getting guys in.

The Jazz were relieved that DeMarrre Carroll did not have to have offseason surgery on his wrist.

Coach Corbin has been out and about visiting with Jazz players and plans on continuing to see as many guys as he can this summer.

Steve Luhm: Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor and coach Ty Corbin attended workout. So did Walter Perrin (player personnel) and David Fredman (chief scout).

Steve Luhm: Jazz working out 6 second-round draft prospects. Covering: 3 newspapers, 4 TV stations, 2 sports-talk radio stations.

Been tellin yall about meyers leonard for some time. Going end up being the best big man in this draft 5 years from now. His combine numbers are great for a 7 footer plus has soft hands and a great jumper. He will be an allstar before all is said and done. Also utah fans hes white and i know how much yall love the white players.

I really know nothing. I just really enjoy basketball and I like thinking about players and how they might be better used.

Check out the Walt Perrin Video:

https://www.nba.com/jazz/20120616-pre-draft-workouts.html

He is asked are you going to get a 1st round pick?

Do you always have your 2nd round pick in before the draft?

Is there a skill set you are looking for or targeting, outside shooting perhaps?

The answers suprised me, particularly the skills he mentions they are looking for.

I think it was PKM that said a scout or someone said the jazz aren't interested in Marshall, could've been the Jazz sending smoke screens. Maybe Good old Walt said something he shouldn't have said.

Please go get Marshall!

Not really, unless I missed something he just wants someone that makes his teammates better and wants to win.
