2013 BEAST JazzFanz Current Players Only - OFFICIAL DRAFT THREAD

And now I present to you, from Würzburg, Germany. The best shooting 7 footer in the history of the NBA:

Now you say: WHAT? I say: Hell yeah! He's 2 years removed from being finals MVP and the most clutch player in both the NBA regular season and postseason according to NBA.com! You need a guy to step up? Well I've got Tony and Dirk.
Those two running screenplays at the top of the key. Thing of beauty.
Dirk's game is one that ages well. And he's coming back this season. After winning the championship in 2011 there was the lockout and his team was blown up. So he took a year off.
Last season he started with an injury and came back too early which obviously affected his stats. Still the Mavs managed to finish with a 28-18 run, which would have been a 6 seed over the course of the whole season and that included work stoppage of OJ Mayo.
Now tell me he's got nothing left.
Mark Cuban already told he's working in the gym like he did in MVP years. I select a future 2014 West AllStar Reserve.

good pick, but you have to select a defensive minded C like Omer Asik to pair them.

Smart thinking. i was planning to do this anyways, since the only Center with an outside game is Cousins and none is going to vote for Cousins anyways except PKM...
I was actually deciding between Bosh, LMA and Lopez. But I didn't like Lopez for his defense. LMA's individual and team stats were worse than Dirk's post injury. And Bosh is a 3rd option in Miami, isn't clutch like Dirk and a worse Iso player when comparing to Dirk's prime. Plus he's the ugly one from Miami who disappeared when Wade was ailing. So I had no other choice basically. Was thinking about Blake Griffin for a moment too, but he's a guy who wouldn't get me a single vote.
Garnett was also another good choice, but I see him more of a center at that stage of his career. His offensive game is basically gone unless left open or crashing the boards.
As a defensive minded Center there's plenty other options and there's no other 2 way PF except Timmy D

KYRIE IRVING

LOVE KYRIE IRVING......
but.......

the reason is pg position is very stacked and even if you select kemba chucker, there isn't too much difference between him and others. But in sg departement and C departement, the gap
is HUGE

This.... kinda

Sanders, hibbert, jordan, mcgee, favors

Shouldn't be too hard..... love the dirk and parker combo

Yeah I agree with you. I figured out at #45 there won't be any major 2 way players and All Star caliber players available. So I had no chance than pass on a center.
Plus first two or three rounds should be BPA for what you want to do anyways.

mcgee???? he sucks. my 6 year old cousin has a better basketball iq than mcgee

McGee has great instincts defensively. Problems start when he's given the ball.

Btw I think LogGrad has the best pair of players at this point if he's doing what I think he'll do.

I like your team best so far..... but like hack said, it will be hard to beat the lebron and durant teams

Gotto go to bed soon guys.. probably be about 5 hours...

Stop being impatient. I doubt it's going to be quick after Hack does his pick. It's not prime time in Utah rite now! Just enjoy the process and discuss, hate, applaud, deceive or whatever!

a couple of you have ruined my plans. but plan b is still in play

I think the closer you are to the turn the better this is ... with so many teams... closer to the turn means you can choose a pretty good combo without another poster snatching your player away.

16 teams is a huge amount of participants. There may not be good Robins available for our 2 Batmen!
Point Guard for example is deceptive in depth. I think Center is deeper. While not in quality it is in quantity and Center are not expected to provide more offense than crashing the glass, playing pick and roll and hammering down alles oops in many cases.
I see 2(3 if you're from Kentucky) good PGs remaining. For the rest you can build really strong cases why they hurt their teams, unless you have another primary ballhandler. I did some BPA lists that I'd like to compare with others after this thing is over. And I feel Parker right now is the #2 or 3 PG(Westbrook is less efficient offensively, plays hero ball, is #2 behind Durant, doesn't have the ball in crunchtime and has a worse midrange game than Parker) and I was extremely thrilled to have him available after Love and Kobe were gone as my first choices.
