So you agree that we are the best but disagree that ours wins/losses should be weighted differently since we are, by your own admission, playing higher quality teams within our conference (that also schedules more OOC ranked opponets per team)?

Maybe, but I think it's more indicative that they are an extremely young team, with a lot of talent and a very good home field advantage. I think they will probably end up being ranked about 20-25. They will barely lose to Bama, then dominate their last two games vs. Arkansas and A&M.

They also barely beat an awful Florida team. While they might have a bright future, they don't deserve credit for being young and possibly really good down the line. As we have said, let the games do the talking.

So after losing to teams who were ranked #2 and #3 (1 is now #1 and the other #4), they should be automatically unranked? I guess it depends on what the teams who are ranked around them are. I doubt any team below them had a very strong argument to be over them.

Then they beat the #3 overall team with a defensively dominant performance. How can you not expect a huge bump in the rankings? I don't get people complaining about LSU's ranking jump.

Florida is 3-3. Awful by Florida standards, average by normal standards.

Utah loss to a team that is 2-6.........

They just beat the previously ranked #3 team, I believe their game has talked very loudly if you are looking at recent performance.

Also, LSU's close win was on the road @ Florida. Still a very hard place to play.

Utah loss to a **** *** team at home..... but they should be ranked above LSU who's losses are to #2 and #3 with a win over #3, right?

And..... You keep saying this as if it is a great argument for the point we are arguing and it isn't. It's true that utah squandered a 17 point lead and lost at home to a bad team. But what exactly does that have yo do with the argument at hand? I already stated the SEC is the best conference as far as football is concerned. I said that I thought they were a bit overrated this year and were getting credit for how great they were in past years. You somewhat agreed with that while disagreeing about LSU being overrated. So what else do we have to say to each other?
 
People also put way too much stock into size of wins/losses.

A win is a win, a loss is a loss.

To me a close win vs. a lesser team is actually a great sign. It shows a team has the mental fortitude to pull out a close game when they are obviously not performing their best.

Auburn barely beat MSU last year, when we were ****ty, and still went on to be a very great team that nearly won a National Championship.
