2014 College Football

Are you pretending not to understand this bro?

It is all about building a resume. A conference championship game is one huge box that Ohio St can check off on their resume that TCU and Baylor cant. Like, its just a literal fact.

If TCU and Baylor are the only 1 loss teams left, yeah, take one of them. Since Ohio St has 1 loss, and has something on their resume that TCU and Baylor cant, its really a no brainer.

This is really really simple bro.

Co-Conference Champions...LOL

And so TCU and Baylor play a game and one of them wins. The committee now has a clear top 4 teams?

If TCU and Baylor played again the winner of that game would now have their new best win of the season, and their best feather in their cap. Sooo umm yeah, in what world would that not help one of them get into the top 4??

Really hope you been smoking drugs and in the morning you'll just be like, "haha, jk guys!"

I've heard it will be(and hope it is)..
1- Bama
2- Oregon
3- Florida State
4- Ohio State

urban meyer gets his shot vs bama & former hesiman(winston) vs current heisman(mariota)

Found this to be interesting.........

"You want to talk about schedule strength? The Buckeyes didn't play an FCS foe (Baylor played Northwestern State and TCU played Samford). Plus, Ohio State had to play an extra game against Wisconsin on Saturday night. The 12 FBS teams the Buckeyes defeated averaged 6.67 victories. The 10 FBS teams that Baylor and TCU beat averaged 5.5 wins and 5.4, respectively."

I especially like the part about "the 10 FBS teams that Baylor and tcu beat averaged 5.5 and 5.4 wins. Cal won 5 games right? and lowly byu beat them in their own place.
Not too impressive of a schedule strength if the teams that Baylor and tcu beat are only "cal" type of quality teams on average.

I watch about 12 hours of college football every Saturday. I've seen each of these teams (OSU, TCU, Baylor) play about 4-5 times each this year and in my humble opinion, TCU is the best team. They are basically an eight minute brainfart away from being undefeated--they were dominating Baylor, took the foot off the pedal a little and things just snowballed.

That said, I can understand why Ohio State would be voted in. I just hope they aren't because I find them completely uninspiring and overrated.

I understand what you are saying. You clearly have no clue what I'm talking about.

Not sure how I'm being a 'homer' in trying to explain that a Big 12 team might get in despite not having a conference championship game. The committee will pick which team they think is better, a concept that is foreign to you. Why don't you answer my questions? TCU beats Baylor in a conference championship game and so the committee still has to pick between OSU and TCU? Teams from different conferences? That's really difficult, and it doesn't fix much of anything.

The Big 12 plays an additional conference game instead of scheduling Kent State or Navy. OSU only played Wisconsin once this year, what was this extra boost they received? They didn't play any more conference games than TCU or Baylor. They didn't play Wisconsin twice.

Sounds to me like the Big 12 should actually schedule opponents and expand to 12 teams in order to have a conference championship.

Agreed. The Big 12 was rightfully punished for not having a conference title game. Watching Bama and especially Ohio State romp in their championship games had to resonate with the committee big time. Now let's see if the Big 12 tries to expand and whether or not BYU can get out of their own way and score an invite.

Why would the Big 12 be getting punished? If the committee picks OSU it's because they believe they are better than TCU and Baylor. A conference 'punishment' has nothing to do with it. Y'all think funny.

Yeah, expansion would be great to get a title game, but some of y'all should suggest your great and fair ideas for a conference championship game in a conference with 10 teams.
