KD is just amazing. tony allen did a great job trying to bother KD. KD 'only' had 21 pts until he went off late in the 4th and OT. that was hard earned 35pts. that 4pt play was just video game like. ridiculous.
but i like what allen is doing against KD. he tries his best to bother before KD catches the ball. KD's length and awkward body type was actually his downside last night. allen made him uncomfortable. it's like a 6ft boxer fighting 6ft 5 guy with reach, but this 6ft boxer is fighting chest to chest throwing uppercut and not letting him use his reach.
IMO, that's the only way to neutralize KD. no lengthy athlete can bother KD. you just gotta make him uncomfortable right in his face. and when you bother him enough, westbrook on the other side decides to go for it and jack up the shot for himself. most of the night, KD was pretty quiet and didn't have enough touches. westbrook was awesome, but you still want westbrook to beat you, not KD.
The best thing Allen is doing is keeping Durant from penetrating and getting easy hoops at the rim or drawing fouls. A smaller guy can do that, where he is quicker than anybody near his size and can go by them. Then as you say, on KD's jumpers, he's getting up in him and forcing tough jumpers.
The result is KD is shooting less than 50% FGs and he's only taken 14 fts in the two games.

Allen's ball denial last night was epic. It was the difference in the game. He forced OKC to run multiple possessions through Westbrook, which is a much more inefficient option for the Thunder
