What's new

2015 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

Great pick WC. He's the guy I expected you to take over Iverson at #23. I was expecting him to go early in the 2nd round (he was pick #12 last year). West and Dr. J. is a helluva old-school combo.

I really didn't expect him to make it this far, tbh. Iverson is expendable now to anyone who is interested, I have one offer for him, but it's kind of selling low.

It is absurd that West fell this far. Iverson on the other hand was a ****ty pick.

Yeah, it's absurd no one wants players from the 60's who played in an era without a 3pt line.

Wade is not exactly a 3 point shooter, and yet, he's one of the great shooting guards. And who is to say that some of pre-3pt era players wouldn't have been good 3 point shooters anyway?

I find it hard to believe any player in the 60's would be good at shooting 3's. Sure, they were good shooters, but it's not like they practiced the way players do today taking the shot.

Jerry West is an all-time great though (though over-rated because he played in an era that averaged like 120 possessions per game), just a terrible pairing with Allen Iverson. Two non-3pt shooters.

I agree with this. Hence why Iverson is on the trade block. I went a different direction than I was going to at first, plus West was there so it was a no-brainer.

If you traveled in time, took a player from the 60s, and threw him in a 2015 NBA game, they would struggle. Too many things are different. I think that would the case with any player from before 1980, with the possible exception of some bigs. Obviously nobody has written a treatise on the philosophy of Jazzfanz fantasy drafts, but I would like to think that those players are imagined as if they had a couple of years to adjust to the modern game.

I can think of at least one that would have been superb. Had that kind of range and was a prolific shooter during his era. I'm fully expecting WC to go after him at some point here now.

You are completely right if we are thinking about the same player.
