Paul's injury and Westbrook's humanity (ie he obviously can't carry his team by himself all the time) means that our chances to nab the 4th spot are really going up. The main rival might be Memphis, a gritty team with more experience who could get some ugly wins to make a difference in the end. But indeed the present is nice.

No. That's what every other team wants, for us to beat up on each other.
We want to face anyone but the Spurs or Warriors in the playoffs.
Spurs wed have a slight chance against if we're healthy, and hot. Warriors no realistic chance. We'd have to have some divine intervention.

I agree, a Utah/Memphis series would be a methodical slugfest. The winner would be exhausted. I'd rather OKC, Clips and Houston.

Your division rank no longer affects your playoffs seed. Only conference standings matter.
The division winner is guaranteed a playoff spot. The odds of that mattering though are virtually none.

Maybe I'm speaking too soon on this, but the Jazz are going to end up in 3rd. I think the Rockets will be coming back down to earth a little bit, I bet they play close to .500 the rest of the way.
