2016-17 Hype Train Playoff Chase!!!

No they wont.

They are 11-9 against above .500 teams. By comparison we are 6-11. So not only have they played more good teams than us, they have won a higher % of those games. They've also played a league leading 22 road games so far. I think they are pretty much locked into the 3rd seed unless Harden gets injured.

Bringing up our record proves nothing though, since we've been injured so much. Otherwise, I agree that Houston is for real, and will be hard to catch. However, if things start to click, not only could we catch Houston, we might be able to catch SA for #2. Not likely, but certainly possible. I think the only spot that's for sure out of reach is #1.

I just did it to show Houston has actually had a fairly tough schedule, or at least a harder one than us, so I doubt they fall apart as their season becomes easier.

Jazz have had an almost perfect week!!! They just won their 4th in a row. Hayward was named Western Player Of The Week, took firm control of the 5th seed!

Now Hood has the bone bruise and Hill twisted his ankle but the Jazz don't play again till Friday @ Mavs. Three days to heal up and get right.

Also the Blazers and Thunder lost last night. The Clippers won but Paul sprained his thumb and while his x-ray came back negative he might miss some time. Also Griffin is still out. Jazz have a good schedule...time to take firm control of the 4th seed.

Tonight's games:

Rockets @ Heat
T-Wolves @ Spurs

OP updated with standings and power rankings.

Idk. I think I rather face the Clippers than Houston.

Houston is really good.

I think the Jazz can beat either of them. But I'd prefer to do it with home court advantage. That's far more likely a match up against LAC.

Do you still think Houston is bad at defense?

EDIT: not just bad at defense! You said they don't play any defense.

They didn't. But that has certainly changed which I find very surprising considering their coach. Still say Utah can take them.

Easiest schedules through Sunday:*1. Indiana, 2. Golden State, 3. LA Clippers

I saw this on the NBA power rankings. I think we can catch the clippers and especially if Paul is down. I think we end up playing the clippers and I think we really need the home court against them.

I also saw Jazz are now #1 defense in the defensive rating. Offense is down to #10 but that is still pretty good.

No man, they always did this season. It's just hard to do it well when you're missing your best perimeter defender.

IIRC, the offense is BACK UP to 10 after dipping to 12 for a bit.

Houston is really good.

Which of these two statements is more outlandish? (Because I believe both of them atm):

1. Maybe not this year, but soon this will be Dantoni's best team he's ever coached
2. Dantoni is a lock for the Hall of Fame

I think number one is more outlandish. The suns team with Marion, stoudemire, Nash, JJ and other notable role players was better.

Both are interesting though. He needs a long stint with Houston to bury the time in New York.
