2016 Free Agent Targets: Allen Crabbe

I would jump in the market for Crabbe and also for Evan Fournier, who is a 46/40/84 shooter with a quick release and easy above-the-break range.

If you're talking that kinda $$$ why not try to get Brad Beal to sign a Hayward/Hornets type of deal first??

That is absolutely untrue. I remember Crabbe coming out, he was touted as a good shooter who wasn't that athletic. Hell, I think he shot 40% from 3 on a good amount of attempts his first couple years. I know stats are hard to understand though.

Crabbe was obviously a very good shooter at Cal.. Thats what he does.. shoot 3's..

Fournier is way too expensive. I don't like Ennis. He's not a good player.

What about E'Twaun Moore?? Heo shot 45% from 3 for Chicago this year, and is pretty good defensively.. I'd like that move better than Ennis, always thought Moore might be the best prospect from those Purdue teams (Jajuan Johnson and Robbie Hummel)

I'd support that signing.

I like him but it will cost too much to get him. I think you'd have to come in around the 12 M per year to make them uncomfortable and even then I think they match. I'd rather get a guy like Courtney Lee who is comparable imo and won't cost as much and is also unrestricted.

This is who I was thinking of. Gotta be pretty cheap. Like 6-7M per I would guess. We just gotta make sure he's cool with coming off the bench. Feel like he's started a lot in this league in Orlando and Memphis. I also don't know how good of a defender he is.

Lee was a big part of the problem in Memphis this year, IMO. In the games I watched, I saw him coasting in rare fashion. He's been a good player, but I'm not sure he is anymore.

What are y'alls thoughts on Locke's opinion that we need a big wing. Locke thinks a big wing will give us more lineup diversity and allow us to roll out a lot more small ball lineups, possibly with Lyles at the 5. We could have shooting at all 5 positions against bigger lumbering teams. I find it intriguing. Kind of like rolling out a red instants deck to counter against a more classic green elf deck - no mana burn.

Well NAOS, and several others, have been promoting that idea for up to a season +. Several names have been mentioned, such as Bazemore, that can guard both wing positions and add shooting.

Seems the Jazz FO is on the right track but 1 year behind Jazzfanz lol.

I'm not sure what's the deal with Solomon Hill this year. But I sorta think he can play. He could be a good under-the-radar kind of signing.

EDIT: I'd rather have E'Twaun Moore, though.

I've been saying get a big wing since I started posting here.. Thats why I used to suggest Al Farouq Aminu every offseason!!

Here's the move;

MAX Harrison Barnes!!

I don't even know if he's a FA or healthy, but James Johnson was a terrific defender at one point, with versatility. Guy like that could help.

Another example.

Barnes isn't even that good.

He's a good shooter though, and could handle more attempts and score close to 15ppg in a featured bench role.. He's good enough to get that kind of contract at 24..

He's a vacuum player.. they have enough ball-handlers on the team.. he'll add spacing to the offense..

They could use a big wing and when you think about it he's Kanters age so it's kinda like the $$ they'd have needed to sign him..

Barnes is high character too, I think he'll just be looking for the max, which Utah will have room to give him. He reportedly turned down 4 years 64 mil from GS..

They could play lineups like

Hood(or Burks)-Hayward-Barnes-Favors-Gobert
Exum-Hood-Hayward-Barnes-Gobert(or Favors)
Exum(or Neto)-Burks-Barnes-Lyles-1st rd pick

Another example.

More recent one is last summer I was posting max Tobias Harris.. No way they miss the playoffs with him on the roster.. and with Gobert/Favors missing 20 games each he'd have had plenty of minutes (Including Ingles minutes)..

They'd have probably been in contention for home-court if he put up #'s like he's done in Detroit..

FWIW I like Barnes more than Tobias..
