2016 Free Agent targets

I'm now convinced pgab is a troll. No one who knows as much about basketball can actually think that's a well-constructed team.

Surprised no one has said Conley. Am I missing something? Pretty early to say this, but it looks like the Grizzlies might need to blow things up and may have a hard time keeping him there...

Whiteside has more blocks than Rudy and Favors combined. He's averaging more blocks this season than he did dominating in Lebanon.. blocking jump-shots on the perimeter and everything.. he could certainly play PF, and shoot 60% from the field doing so.

I'm just calling it like I sees it. Hassan's block% is 12.1% right now, that'd be the highest % ever.. only Manute Bol has eclipsed 10% for a season (did it 3x in the 80's). (Rudy's at 8.8% right now- that'd be top-20 all time)

Those moves would obviously make the Jazz a more feared team in the west, immediately. That'd be by far the most talent Paul George has had surrounding him. With Rudy and Whiteside they might be able to block out the sun.. whats there really to complain about?!

Paul George's numbers so far this season 25.3ppg, 8.6rebs, 4.7 asts, 43% from 3 on over 6 attempts per. That's a marked upgrade over Hayward, and he's locked in for an extra season..

Yeah, I'm sure Paul George is going to have a real easy time scoring with Gobert and Whiteside clogging up the paint on offense....

It's cute how y'all are believing Lindsey will "skip steps" and sign a proven player for mega bucks when all he has ever done has been signing a bunch of young guys you've never heard of to minimum deals.

Let Memphis keep Conley. Of course Memphis one of those places that has troubles recruting big time free agents. Fortunately, as M Gasol showed they can keep them though.

For a relatively cheap guy from overseas I would look at Nando De Colo. He has really improved since his days at San Antonio. One of the best Euroleague players now. Can play both the PG and SG positions as he has improved his jump shot. Also great at Eurobasket. His contract is up after this season. A couple of other Euros to look at are Gentile and Kuzminskas. Now I would not expect to much defense from either of them and we would have to get the rights to Gentile from Houston.

John Crotty.... Championship!!! Here me out. He's old school. He's a dribbler. He can't shoot. He's really really old/ Veteran presence. Get it done!

David Lee shouldn't be an option, he'll cost too much, ask for too many years, he's shrewd. Ryan Anderson will be looking to cash in too. There's cheaper options of those type of players that are better value IMO.

I don't want Lee, I don't think he fits what we are trying to do. I quoted this because I think you are SOOOOOOO wrong that he is going to cost too much or want too many years. David is going to struggle to get a contract let alone be able to have any demands.

David Lee fits what we are trying to do better than Booker, at least on offense. IDK how far his defense has fallen off in recent years. I just said it because I thought he would be super cheap and would be our best passing big if we signed him.

Lee is better than Booker, but his defense was awful in his prime... I'm sure it's much worse now. Booker has been terrible this year so even our D League #1 pick would probably be bringing more. I think we should set our sights higher.

There was talk of us using our capspace to extend Favors by giving him more now and he'd get a bit less later. That is the best use of our space. If there is space left or if we can't agree I could see a monster one year deal (with a team option for a second year). Overpaying someone a lot for one year so we get some use out of the space while preserving future flexibility. Like a Ryan Anderson on a 2 year $40 M deal... second year a team option. Something along those lines.

I disagree. I think defense is more important to us in a backup big, and Lee is almost Kanter bad at defense.

I agree that he will be cheap.
