2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

It's almost like Melo's trying to one up the Knicks organization in the department of reveling in not being a winner but still getting paid like one.

thats my 2 cents anyway

his attitude is certainly reflected in his defensive intensity.. the dude was talking like his NBA career was over during the Olympics -- he might be the worst actor I've ever seen too...

Its funny how these sports which are ultimately about discipline and teamwork manifest quite the opposite at the extremely successful end of the spectrum aka when 100 million dollars are owed and things go sour..

the most egregious error of the Melo era in NY mostly goes unsaid because it sounds like a complete joke or a comment from somebody completely out of the loop when said aloud ---- the error is the team was supposed to be built to try and beat LeBron -- That was always the game, the Eastern conference is still that way all these years later....... Either try and compete with LeBron or prepare to fight another day tank/rebuild. Instead they put this flawed, inferior, abomination of a product on the court and get locals to buy tickets because "It's their team" ./endrant

Horny made a big mistake by ever taking that job. Let the ship sink, just save Horny.

Theres a story floating around today with Luke Walton talking about his playing days. Apparently Karl Malone paid 20 grand to make him 'his personal rookie'

@BleacherReport
Carmelo Anthony reportedly “unwilling” to waive his no-trade clause in any deal the Knicks may seek
Is this news to anyone? Didn't he do this last year too when Phil was tryin to blow the team up and build around Porzingis?

It's a tough one. I mean who do you blame? The fool? Or the fool who follows him?

Did the Knicks not know who they traded for when they traded for Melo? Did he ever play defense in Denver? He never made it past the 1st round of the playoff there so his warts were for all to see. Tracy McGrady 2.0. Moreover they signed him up to that huge contract - he was a free agent but he stayed. Do you blame him for having the no trade clause there?

So again, who do you blame? Melo with all his faults? Or the Knicks that had no other plan but to keep him & sell tickets.

Both are guilty IMO....

The NBA might as well just award Embiid with the ROY at the All-star break this year. Whats the point of stringing it out any further?

When he wins the MVP of the Rising Stars game they should just present him with both awards.

Cause he could get injured at any point. Can't give an award to someone if they don't even play half the season (well, except for Steve Kerr apparently).

Ultimately I blame the owner... James Dolan is the paramount reason I don't root for the Knicks (or Rangers) - I made the case many years ago that their problems were in fact trickling down from ownership.. I certainly believe that to this day.. I believe it's done almost on purpose in a hedged bet type of way..

I'd say it's one of the clearest examples of that type of malfeasance I've seen in pro sports in my 20 something years... A classic case of crabs in a bucket.
