That is hard to do when a team already has three really good players. How many other players can join the Ws and be their best player and carry them in the finals? LeBron is the only other player that maybe would be able to do that. That's why Durant is probably #2 but has an argument for #1. LeBron isn't going to be as good next year.

My guess is he is expecting LeBron to decline and Kawhi to improve next year. Kawhi did just beat up the Ws more than any other person including LeBron in the playoffs before getting hurt.

How did the rest of the team play? Who plays with a better supporting cast? Who's supporting cast played better. It was very clear that LBJ HAD TO DO IT ALL!! Be a scorer pg and rebound, where as Durant could just be free and easy and play his game and let the game come to him also only LBJ was able to even beat the warriors during the playoffs then also add the locker room turmoil that was obviously going on in cle. Also didn't Irving **** the bed in that series?

If no evidence not sure u can all of a sudden say he will slow down.
 
As far as lebron declining/slowing down...... last year his minutes per game were higher than any of his other years on this cavs team, his ppg were the highest, his field goal percentage was the highest, his 3 point percentage was the highest, he averaged a career high in rebounds, and a career high in assists.
