2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

I'm intrigued by rumors surrounding Dennis Smith Jr. He should be able to hit 3s, get by his defender and get to the rim even if he's not a great ball mover.

I'm intrigued too, issue I see is that Dallas is going to want a lot of veteran talent back for him and I'm not sure the Jazz have a package that makes sense for him.

I'm also iffy on the fit of Smith/Mitchell as both seem like pretty similar players to me, but I'll be the first to admit I haven't watched nearly enough of Smith to have an educated opinion on him.

Im in a group chat with a couple of Dallas fans and they think he is one of the worst players in the NBA.

Looks talented to me. Still on rookie scale for two more years after this one.

Tonight against okc he made the game winning shot and then the game saving defensive stand against pg13.

Smith intrigues me, but he seems like a more score first, ball dominant player. Dallas wants to trade him because they want the ball in Doncic's hands. Likewise, we want the ball more in Mitchell's hands if we do any iso or for late game stuff.

In terms of style, a guy like Brogdon, Russell, Hill, etc fits better next to Mitchell than a guy like Smith.

How about no. Mitchell isn't a pg

Spida is not a PG and doesn't show any hint of it with his near 1:1 assist to turnover ratio.

You both realize that Mitchell is still young right? He can grow as a passer. Besides, in Quins offense a traditional pass first point guard isn't necessary because of the ball movement and player movement. And Jingles and Beal are both solid passers as well.

Beal would vastly improve our offensive production.
