2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

What are thoughts on getting Conely and Jameichel Green from Memphis? Not sure what else we'd have to offer besides Rubio and a 1st rounder for the addition of Green but I think he would be a great fit in Utah. He can play the three through five positions (Depending on matchups) and shoots 40% from deep. I wouldn't want him as our starting 4 so I wouldn't give up Favors but he would add some good depth at the frontline.

I don't think we have the assets to get Green without Favors and probably more. Detroit already has better assets for a Conley deal alone. I don't think he's better than Favors either.

According to Locke nothing is going to get done until right against the deadline.

Prolly true... the AD stuff has some repricussions in Clips are involved now... damn... gotta wait 3.5 days.

The most obvious trade in the world to me is Tobias to the Jazz for Favors and a protected first.

It’s the guy we want and need and in Favors it’s a dude they keep long term as a starting 5 and a pick for a guy who likely doesn’t wait around for them to see if they get the guy(s) they really want.

Am I taking crazy pills here?

If I could go after one guy, it would be Harris and lock him up to an extension. Guys that are in their prime need to be our focus and Harris has a couple of contracts left in him (whereas Conley is not getting a pay raise once his albatross is off the books).

Been discussed at length... if that is what it took it would have already been done. Clips aren't making him available based on everything I've heard. We would do that in a second... so it likely isn't enough.

My only thought is why would the Clippers help us out. Couldn't they find a similar taker elsewhere in the East?

Nope. Makes sense. Assuming the Clips decide they want to move him.

They could, but who in the East is going to trade a starting caliber C and a 1st for an expiring?

Harris to Utah makes a ton of sense. The Clippers are actually very bold if they don't trade him for something like Favors and a 1st when they could lose him for nothing.

If Harris signs or commits to an extension then I send whatever they want outside of Gobert/Mitch/Ingles. Otherwise I'm really wary, even though he's freaking ideal for us. I just think he's more likely to sign elsewhere.
