2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

2 first round picks is what it takes to start the talks on getting an All-Star. You don't trade two 1st for a borderline starter.

Cy, I'm pretty sure you are smarter than that.

"2 first round picks" can have value all over the place. 2 first round picks from Houston are completely different than 2 first round picks from Dallas which are completely different than 2 first round picks from Atlanta. You couldn't use 2 first round picks of ours to get one from Atlanta or NY or Phoenix.

2 first round picks for Kyle Kuzma is brilliant because it keeps the rest of the team intact for 3 years. Mitchell and Kuzma would make a combined $20 million over the next 3 years. There is a ton of value in that. Oh, and he probably stays long term.

Pels should take that tbh.
That is a monster offer. Keep what they want, flip what they don't.
I imagine this gets done.

Sounds like the Lakers told the Pels to shove it after their most recent offer.

Ha... they said we are out this... next tweet by Woj was... they are out but this is a negotiating tactic... basically they are out... unless Pelicans want them back in.

NO is doing awesome by ignoring LA... it's clearly driving them crazy. They can do more... and they will.

Hart is fine... Zubac is in the last year of his deal. Flip Zubac for Wagner and add another first.

Remember NO didn't initiate this process... the Lakers did through AD's agent. NO always wanted to wait... Lakers are not justified in being pissed here. They. Didn't. Want. To. Trade. Him.

So Lakers can add more to the pile.

The bad news is that Memphis has shown they are willing to not deal if they feel insulted by an offer. They did it last year with Evans and he was expiring! With Conley they can hold onto him and trade him in the off-season.

Letting the deadline pass and just putting him on the bench for half a year, would be a super awkward situation.

It's a very good haul and let's you put that matter behind you, and assess how the pieces fit. and what you want to do in the off-season.
