Well, we're going to disagree on whether Favors "fits" because he's one of my favorite players, but yeah, I think that has to be a consideration when you talk about trading him.

Utah was not a state during the civil war. They became a state 1896. They had slaves but so did many states in the North and they were not considered slave states.

Utah/Deseret/Mormon Country was pro slavery until the end of the civil war. They bought and sold slaves and captured Native Americans and sold them as slaves. They attempted genocide on a group of Native Americans. They passed laws legalizing slavery. They taught in their churches that slavery was of god.

Relieved we didn’t get Barnes, he’s good but drastically overpaid. He’d have been good here but not get us to the finals good.
