2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Lakers getting gut punched by the Pacers... who have struggled. I guess when you publicly throw everyone on your team in a trade they stop playing super hard... weird.

Gonna be awkward in LA on Friday when nothing happens.

After tonight Magic and Pelinka gonna be like... so about us pulling out of the negotiation... how many firsts do you want?

Fair enough. I just am not sure that the stretch 4 we want is going to be attainable with a mid level and the way things are looking this trade for conley is going to push until 12:59 pm MST

Oh there is some risk to be sure. But that holds true for any move we make that moves the needle at this point.

Just hope they make good bets.

If Gasol is not playing and Conley is playing tonight, doesn't that mean that Gasol is the one being traded, or at least he is almost sure to be traded. It also means nothing is imminent on moving Conley and he may not be traded.

The Lakers will pull off the trade and go into the playoffs as the 8 seed. They will play the Warriors in an absolute battle hopefully tiring Golden State out for the rest of the playoffs.

I hope we can make the trades possible to get in the 3, 6, or 7 seed. As long as we can avoid Golden State in the 1st or 2nd round, I like our chances if everyone is healthy.

I would love it if we upset Denver in the 2nd round then play somebody like San Antonio, Portland or OKC in the 2nd round. Maybe we can get to the West finals against a Golden State team who had to play the Lakers in round 1 and Rockets in round 2.

Possibly. I don't think a lot of people realize how close the Jazz were to winning the west last year.

Look, NO move the Jazz can logically hope to make will definitively make them a better team than the Warriors. None. Nada.

Not Jrue Holiday.
Not Tobias Harris.
Not Jabari Parker.
Not Aaron Gordon.
Not Nikola Mirotic.
Not Lou Williams.
Not Zach Lavine.
Not anyone we have discussed as a logical possibility.

Unless there is a miracle situation where we could land a KD, AD, LeBron, Butler, PG13... like an All NBA level talent, we aren't going to move the needle as much as everyone on Jazzfanz would love.

So you're asking the wrong question. The question isn't "Does Conley make us the best in the west?", it's "Is Conley the best option out of the realistic possibilities in this moment?". The answer is debatable in my opinion. I understand both sides of the argument. If the Jazz make the trade I understand it. I do think it would make us better.

You are exactly right. It will take a few moves to get to where we want to be. I have a different opinion of who I want the jazz to go after but honestly what do I know? The jazz I am sure have done their due diligence in regard to any available player they feel would upgrade our roster. I feel like any of the options that were truly available on the market were high risk/ high reward. I guess I should just be happy the jazz are actually being aggressive.

That's why I want the Pels to publicly offer an AD-for-LBJ trade. Lakers will obviously say no... and the rest of the team can then ask whether they were really all-in on acquiring AD, or all-in on pandering to LBJ's whims. And so will anyone thinking of LA as a free agent destination.

I mean the Lakers are down 30... didn't play last night... Indiana played in NO last night.... Bwaaaa hahahahahaha.
