I wouldn’t call Ostertag a **** center. He always did a great job clogging the middle on defense, and better than decent rim protector and could move better than 85-90% of all the centers the jazz ever had that were 7-0+ and always felt more comfortable with him in for his defense than when he sat. His biggest flaws were that he didn’t always give his best and maybe a bit lackadaisical as far as his craft is concerned. This is why he and Sloan clashed all the time, because Sloan new how good he could be. When Ostertag was motivated, he was damn good, he just wasn’t always very motivated. Which is why he was so much better in the playoffs.

I would call Tag ****. I've taken **** that was in far better shape and cared far more about anything and that **** was a straight up runny diahrra ****.

Man people on here love to over-hype Favors.
Nah, people under rate him. His health was an issue though.

But you seem to think Tag was anything besides **** so... Here we are not respecting anything you say any more.

You pooped that bitch out, and what did you do with it? Did you coddle it? No! Did you display it? No!! Did you even give it a chance to even smell the roses? No!!!

Ostertag made a **** tone of money played 10-11 years in the nba, danced in a speedo, had some good and bad moments, was both clutch at times and not so clutch at times. Point is, he did a **** ton more than your ****!!! Idiot!!

When has Favors destroyed anyone? Ever? High school maybe? I love Favs as like a 4th best player on a team. Very solid defender, smart player, but pretty limited offensively. Overrated as an athlete for sure. Like I'd love to have him back, if he's willing to come off the bench anyways. But to say he would destroy anyone is hilarious.

Tag was not good, but he wasn't a complete bum either. He could sit at the rim and block a few shots, lean on someone and wear them out. Just generally stay in the way and make things difficult. I think he'd match up pretty well with Favors actually.

Young Favors was pretty ****ing athletic, and a steam roller rolling down the lane. Injuries kinda took that away.

Meh, I've never been super impressed with his athleticism in traffic and in games. In warmups and dunk contest sure but I dont think it translated that well into game play. But yeah, obviously back and knee injuries will kill any bigs explosiveness.

Hayward was the #1 option on a playoff team that won a series. He could get his own shot.

I trust that more than I trust Bogey to be a number one option and get his own shot. Or AK lmfao.
You are severely underestimating Greg "the Shaq master" O-tag. One word: dominate.

That face that this nice, but certainly nothing special, game is your first argument proves my point.
Your point was Derrick Favors has never ever ever had a great game and he has. Besides that, flashy bull **** is flashy bull **** and I built my roster to complement one another.

You might wanna check yourself about who's overrated considering you drafted two of the most overrated and worthless (don't pass, don't play D, and were never missed when they were traded) stars the Jazz have ever had with your first two picks.

Oh bull ****. I never said he never had a good game. Don't play dumb. He's not a dominant player. He's a very nice complementary player in the right situation. In the wrong situation he's worthless. He's not dominant, never has been. I'm sure you can cherry pick a handful of games to "prove" his dominance. I could do the sam for Gerald Green, Amir Johnson, Glen Davis ... that doesn't mean ****. Derrick Favors is a very limited NBA player, especially on offense. He can be a great piece in a solid defense with the right pieces around him. If you are trying to prove a point that Favors would "destroy" someone you are delusional.

And as far as my team, yeah it sucks ***. The Jazz as a whole have been extremely mediocre outside of like 6 guys. This whole exercise made that even more obvious.

I mean, you could have said "Favors could have a pretty nice game every once in awhile and would hold his own most of the time." And I would have had no complaints there. Ostertag isn't very good but Favors isn't that great either. Just a nice complementary player.

He's a great complementary player. Favors is the most well-rounded (but not altogether best) center in Jazz history. In a contest like this (where most of these teams wouldn't make an NBA playoffs), that's a hell of a lot.

And Ostertag was a lumbering oaf with even less skill and would have a tough time in this matchup. Use whatever term you want for that.

Listen, I'm not arguring Osterag > Favors. I do not think that. I do not think there is a gigantic gap between Favors and Tag though strictly because I think Favors is pretty limited on offense unless he's right on the rim. Favors is great on D in the P & R, is a nice shot blocker, is usually in good position. But that's about it. He's a very nice player but is not capable of destroying anyone as that would require elite D and O which is just something he is not capable of. My original, and accurate, argument was Favors isn't destroying anyone. And that is true.
