Charlotte dumb AF giving up Monk for Bouknight though.

I see Bouknight as someone who has the potential to become your bench scorer/sixth man type one day. But Monk is already there.

Didn't we just talk about his last night? Only 4 teams in the last decade ended up winning the championship by signing some big name free agents. 2012 and 2013 Heat. 2017 and 2018 Warriors. That's it.

Other teams won championship through trade and draft success, like the 2011 Mavs, 2015 warriors, 2019 Raptors and 2021 Bucks. A path that we can definitely follow.

I mean, don’t Lebron and AD and Westbrook count as big trades/signings?
 
The Bulls are still 19.5 under the cap.

The Jazz can trade Bojan + Scrub for Lauri. That dumps some salary and gives the Jazz a backup 5.

That's some crazy length and 3 high end defenders (Gobert, Gay,Oneale).

Trades are part of the list, so AD doesn't count. LeBron, however, signed as an FA, so I do believe the 2020 Lakers could be added to the list. We'll see about 2022...

Yeah but it's all fair game when it comes to trade. Like Raptors trading for Kawhi, OKC trading for PG, Bucks trading for Jrue, Suns trading for CP3. As long as you can put together a good enough trade package, even the smallest market can acquire big stars.

Oh well in that case the rule applies and you can rule the Lakers out this year

But lebron by himself couldn't even take the Lakers to the playoffs in 2019. It wasn't until the AD trade that made them a real title contender.

I wouldn't call Gay an high-end defender. He is just good and this forces O'neale to defend guards more which has been a problem. May be Royce would do better with Gay around but I am not sure about that.

Can you please specify exactly which scenario free agents apply to winning a championship instead of only drafts and trades? Because I can’t move the goal post anymore
