Sadly and reluctantly agree (I love sexton and really like Dunn but cant really argue with you). Who is the best at assists (#'s wise) of the pg's in our range?

advice? look at turnovers first than count dimes. example Anthony Black is terrible in that regard and cannot shoot. He is a rebounding wing that plays hard and is only willing to pass because he has to pass smh
The other thing is, you really have to look at the role any coach is putting them in and try not to get excited about stats good or bad if they were playing out of position.
Example: Sexton when playing the point, which seems to be a rare occasion so far, was pretty solid in that regard. sample way to small though, and he rarely played playmaker guard in Cleveland either.So from what I can see with Garland there his 2nd season and with vets there in his path as a rookie.
I am not entirely sold Sexton can't be our point guard yet, but I would be fine with using him as the 6 if we are bringing in dime machine

I like Dunn but who knows if he can stay healthy… having another real pg that sets the table has tremendous value… not only to winning but to development. THT is too chaotic to play pg full time… Sexton isn’t necessarily that guy either. It is getting a version of what Conley brought to the table.

He’s boring… so I get why people don’t want him or wouldn’t be excited. Solid assist and super low turnovers… with great low volume high efficiency shooting numbers isnt sexy… but winning is sexy AF.

And it’s not ****ing Monte Morris’s fault the Wizards can’t ever get their **** together.

I can’t believe it’s Morris’s fault the Wizletts haven’t had a 50-win season in 50 years.

Black was the first name to come to mind when thinking of a PG to go with Lauri. But his assist/turnover ratio is pretty bad so idk.

thats the problem, he isn't a point guard or really even a point forward

I’m not sure Washington would want to get rid of Morris, but sign me up if they do (re: trading up one spot). He’s filling the Jose Calderon shaped hole in my heart with his bonkers assist-to-turnover ratio (5 to 1! Wow!). 38% from 3, too.

Also, apparently one of his nicknames is “Count of Monte Assist/TO” which is a hoot.

I will take credit for mentioning Morris as a reason why WAS does not need a pg about 100 pages ago

Lol. I guess you missed last season. The jazz suck at losing even when trying hard like last season. I dont think they try to lose next season.

The jazz would’ve had a worse record had they not started so hot. I counted 8 games we had no business winning because guys like Beasley, JC, and KO were playing out of their minds to start in the first 13 games. We also started the year playing great to elite defense. We all know how that finished out. I decided to be generous, and say we lose 6 of those 8 games we probably should’ve lost we would’ve finished with one more loss than the blazers who moved up into the third position in the lotto.

He’s very much like vanilla yogurt… boring but it’s a good medium for other more tasty items… sprinkles some granola and dried fruit in there and you have a treat… sprinkle some **** in there and it’s **** in Vanilla yogurt.

Cason has a pretty good AST/TO ratio as well.

Even those last 20 games when playing a bunch of scrubs, sitting healthy starters, and tanking our asses off we were 1 win from being a .500 team. A .500 team makes the play in tournament in both the western and eastern conferences last season. So last season when we were at our absolute worst we could be we were still basically 1 win from being a play in team lol.

Wait… what?? We went 6-13 the last two months.

I just want Walker and Bufkin. Whatever we have to do to make this happen, I'm OK with. Short of losing Lauri or Kessler, of course.

Walker would be such a great fit but still believe Ainge would take Whitmore over him if actually given the choice.

I like Bufkin fine but also like JHS and Colby Jones as combo guard prospects. I'd still take Leonard Miller or Dariq Whitehead over any of them at 16. Every draft you typically find good combo guard prospects taken late 1st/early 2nd (Poole, Simons, Clarkson, D. White, Hyland, Brogdon, KPJ, etc).

As far as Hendricks goes I don’t hate him but IMO he’s the pf version of a 3&D wing. I don’t think he’s a guy that will create much. If I’m wrong nothing would make me happier. He’s not going to create offense. He has good traits, athleticism and shooting but I think he’s lacking some of those other ball skills to be a guy who can get his own points, or create for others. And in normal years I’d be all for Hendricks, but this isn’t a normal draft. We need to swing for the fences. I think Walker has at least some of those traits and ball skills and fits hella good with Our ball creators and Markkanen.

Most dishes on planet earth consist of mostly starches (bread, rice, pasta) or bland vegetables paired with meat and spices. 3 and D wings and game-manager PGs (and maybe pure centers) are the starches that make teams work (in part because they don’t demand a ton of salary).

I think the narrative is that he played on a super flawed team and plays next to Nick Smith who monopolizes the ball too much, and a bad shooting team to boot. Me personally I don’t know what to make of that just playing devils advocate. For that reason he’s not my first or even second choice. But at the same time it gives me pause because they’re not saying he’s an elite play maker for nothing right?
