2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Boogie Ellis looking like a worthwhile take on a 2nd-round flyer. Has had a very average career overall but is exploding this season. NBA build, athleticism, and shot-making.

He's not a floor general, but could have value as a 2nd-unit, offensive-minded guard.

Might be being slept on a bit for getting drafted, but not worth a first and we have no 2nd.

Man, I’d have a hard time taking Scoot over Brandon Miller. Shooting is the most important skill in todays NBA, and length might be 2nd. I get scoot is ridiculously explosive and talented, but man taking a 6’2 dude who can’t shoot is incredibly risky when you have a long, athletic 6’9” sharpshooting scorer sitting there on the board.

Then scoot would become the healthy version of Derrick Rose and I’d be fired.
if most of what you do is shoot and not much else yet, even at 6'7" ( my guess at Miller actual height) most scouts are taking the dynamic box office freak, who will be making his teammates better and can finish over anyone like Morant 9 times out of 10. Now maybe Miller is the 3rd best prospect, at this point. But I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the Harrison Barnes draft treatment and slides either. Walker and the twins have higher upsides and tbh Whitmore is the more complete 2w package, even though his shooting isn't as great.
I can see BM going 3 or 4 in most scenarios, but again would not be surprised if others jump past him based on individual workouts combine testing etc which he will likely skip

Combine measurements are going to be fun this year. It is always funny how measuements can drop a player or elevate a player. It is like some GMs just ignore what they do on the court. Just look at desmond bane and his t-rex arms.

I wonder if there is a place in the modern nba for a guy like Zach Edey. The guy is massive and so productive.

Keyonte George had some really impressive offensive plays yesterday, but also showed how loose he can be with the ball, and he played defense like a turnstyle in the 2nd half.

That game is the epitome of why George only shoots 34% from 3. He has such a great shooting stroke but takes so many tough shots. He and Lauri would be a really deadly combo in the pick and roll/pop.

I like Miller but his lack of creation ability is also a major concern

Based on where we're currently slated to pick I'd probably prefer:
13. Cason Wallace | PG | Kentucky
16. GG Jackson | F | South Carolina
27. Leonard Miller | F | G-League
