2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Jazz need someone to be a lead ball handler, someone they can build their offense around. They're running a democratic system right now, because they don't have anyone they trust to score in isolation or dominate with the ball in their hands. Whether they get that person in this draft or the next one, they need someone to run the show. Both Markkanen and Brandon Miller look like #2 options to me. It could work if they're both playing next to a solid lead guard though.

Also, I'm not 100% sure Kessler is what the Jazz want in a full-time, starting center. I think Baba Miller could be a real weapon at the 5 if he gets up to 225 lbs and commits to protecting the rim.
I was so ready to like this post until I read that last sentence..

With that said good to see that Cy is finally on the Alabama train. Can never have enough Alabama kids on a roster *wink*

Jazz love their 5-out lineups where their bigs are facilitators as well as deep shooters.

Wasn’t Miller awesome in the midrange in HS. I think he will have it in him to be awesome high volume scorer. Not every team needs to be built around one heliocentric option and honestly unless you have THE next guy in the league at that you are going to have a limited ceiling.

I would be over the moon to have any one of Wemby, Scoot, Miller, Amen will be somewhat surprised if that isn’t 4 out of the top 5 guys picked.

I don't think Brandon Miller has enough on-ball creation or rim finishing to be a top-5 pick. The athleticism just isn't quite there. He floats on the perimeter and waits to shoot off the catch. He's pretty great at that, but he's not a guy you can build your offense around imo.

College spacing makes everyone look less athletic. College freshman dont have to be great creators right away.

Go read a Devin Booker pre-draft report.

6'9 sweet shooter who is an elite rebounder, good passer, can handle, can defend. Dont overthink it.

Didn't take long for me to be reminded of how disgustingly awful NCAA basketball is. I don't understand why NCAA basketball has such terrible quality of play. In football, the coaching and tactics are often ahead of the pros. In college the style of play is archaic and just stinks.

I think the three point line being shorter and letting them use a zone really mucks everything up. Officials are also often trash… only allowing 5 fouls puts key guys in foul trouble so one bad call gets exaggerated a bit.

During the tournament I swear they play 90 seconds then go to tv timeout… it’s so flipping choppy.
