2023 NBA Draft Megathread

cade is so much more dynamic as a shooter/scorer than black is. black is the more steady player, won't turn it over as much, better defender than Cade. giddey is a more appropriate comp for black.

What do you guys consider the cut off for 'we got an elite type prospect'. Let's take Scoot and Victor of the board, so #3-#? how many players get you saying 'Jazz did enough tanking to get a pick good enough that we potentially got an awesome player.

I don't know anything, but starting to recognize names and definitely know the type of player I'm looking for. So I could definitely get excited about Black for example. He's #10 on Tankathon. #3-#10
Thompson
Miller
Thompson
Smith Jr.
Walker
George
Whitmore
Black

With #11 being Gradey Dick. Dick would definitely feel like a tier below the kind of prospect I'd want (I don't know anything). Back to the original question, how many of those dudes get you hyped about being our top pick? Is it just Miller or a Thompson twin? Are there dudes you would add to the list? How close does this board lineup with your own?

What? Is Cade not awesome? And isn't Black good on defense? So Cade on offense with good defense upside? Cade was putting up 20/6/6...
Ok Cade is awesome as an empty stat tank commander?
CC is pretty overrated and yes Black is a smart defender, and play reader. but thats it. Being smart I guess is good enough for some of you. It is something to build on, but with those ****** handles and meh jumper, I don't see a place for him in Hardy's rotation let alone starting.

it wasnt a damn comp. The point I was TRYING to make, was Cade went to high for what he is as a pro. Black is like you say, even less of a prospect so I guess I was being generous smh

I think that is enough to get people to disagree. Who should have gone over him? You want empty stats and no impact, Jalen Green is your guy. There is definitely an argument for Mobley, but he hasn't been flawless either. Both he and Barnes slumped a bit this year, while Cade seemed to be doing well before his injury.

He's easily a top three player in that draft. And I haven't heard anyone say he was overdrafted or is a disappointing pick until this very morning.

Franzzzzzz

The Detroit Pistons
I would look at Black starting around 16th overall based on his actual ceiling and maybe 12th based on his floor as a role player. If you catch my take.
imo he is being treated like he is in the same ceiling range as some of the best prospects in this draft. Cannot figure why, maybe I am missing something I just don't see much there to work with at all that I cannot get in a more proven Colby later on.

I don't think anyone has put Black in their top 5....
